Fine Arts Foundation Newsletter Late Summer 2014 Co-Presidents Lynn Hinkle and Lynn Cahen From the Co-Presidents: The summer is winding down, and the Fine Arts Foundation is planning and setting goals for our new fiscal year. The fundraisers and events have been completed for 2013-2014, our grant recipients have been selected, and these organizations will be receiving notice of their award this month! We take great pride in the variety and number of arts organizations that we are able to give benefit to, and we are anxious to announce them to you at our Fall Luncheon on September 17, 2014. Please plan to attend as our new Board is installed, one of our grant recipients is highlighted, and membership information is given for 2014-2015. The Fine Arts Foundation Debutante Ball was held on Saturday, June 21, 2014 on the University of Denver campus. Twenty-five inspiring young women were presented. Lynn Wong, Debutante Ball Chair, and her Co-Chair, Julie Anderson, the presentation committee and many volunteers, did a fabulous job of covering every beautiful detail to assure that everyone had a wonderful evening that will be remembered for a lifetime! The Debutante Ball along with the Citizen of the Arts Jubilee, the Endowment Fund Campaign, and assorted other FUNdraisers make our mission possible. We are pleased that we impact our community and our membership by "enriching life in Colorado by supporting the Arts." A new and exciting fundraiser was introduced to the membership in Spring 2014! We had 14 wineries from Oregon's Willamette Valley, 80 guests mixing and mingling, 60 bottles of wine for a silent auction, and a three-piece band provided by DU's Lamont School of Music for a fabulous evening of supporting the arts in Colorado! Elizabeth Hotz and Marcia Morgan chaired this event, and with the help of William Snowden, Liz Frawley, Argonaut Liquors, DU Musicians, Susan Stiff and the Sheraton Hotel, additional money was raised for our 2014-2015 grant recipients! It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as CoPresidents of the Fine Arts Foundation. We have been fortunate to be surrounded by talented, enthusiastic, caring and perseverant women who give attention to their community and the arts. There is no doubt that we have had a successful year of fundraising and planning for the future, and we are encouraged and enthusiastic with the organization and momentum of Lynn Wong, President Elect, and the 2014-2015 Board. There is much to be anticipated and enjoyed in the coming year. All the Best Lynn Cahen and Lynn Hinkle Co-Presidents The 2014 Fine Arts Foundation Debutante Ball On Saturday, June 21, 2014, the Debutante Ball Committee presented The Fine Arts Foundation Debutante Ball, "An Imperial Garden honoring the Debutantes of 2014", on the Driscoll Campus Green, University of Denver. The evening began with the presentation of each lovely and accomplished Debutante by her very proud father. John Henry Tatlock was Master of Ceremonies for the Presentation Ceremony and Casen Taylor Dunn and Austin John Richard Hartman were the Receiving Line Escorts. Tiara Mistresses Brianne Rose and Nora Willow Engel, Ava Grace Mohler and Lindsey Megan Watt held the baskets containing the tiaras. After receiving her tiara from Ball Chair, Mrs. David Alan Wong or Ball Co-Chair, Mrs. Mark Steven Anderson, each Debutante turned and curtsied to her mother and the assembled guests. With music provided by the Jerry Barnett quartet, the Debutantes enjoyed the Father-Daughter waltz and an opportunity to dance with each of their two escorts. Following the post-presentation social, Debutantes and guests dined on Summer Baby Wedge salad, Beef Tenderloin and a Duet of Chocolate Torte and Lemon Blueberry Cheesecake prepared by Cater Rendezvous. The black and white tables were set off by oriental inspired red and orange floral arrangements and illuminated Chinese lanterns floating above the dance floor added to the magical feeling inside the beautiful white tent. The celebrating continued until midnight with dancing to Jerry Barnett and New Society. Money raised at the Ball and during the Debutante program year is distributed, in the form of grants, to various nonprofit cultural arts organizations in the greater Denver area. Recipients have included the Central City Opera, Denver Art Museum, Phamaly Theatre Company, Rocky Mountain PBS and University of Denver. The Fine Arts Foundation was pleased to present the following Debutantes for 2014: Miss Catherine Fallert Atkinson, Miss Emilie Boushelle Benedict, Miss Carolyn Margaret Breeze, Miss Jaidi Nicole Carter, Miss Claire Elizabeth Chrisman, Miss Colby Martha Goettelman, Miss McKenna Nicole Granger, Miss Erin McNally Gust, Miss Rachael Meghan Haas, Miss Rienne Carmella Hartman, Miss Hadley Rose Hustead, Miss Ashley Nicole Klingbiel, Miss Sydney Elizabeth Lazzell, Miss Makena Lowery, Miss Natalie Eleanor Malone, Miss Alexandra Boni Neuens, Miss Briana Rose Odell, Miss Hope Olivia Parker, Miss Nicole Caroline Schlatter, Miss Rebecca Jane Smith, Miss Kaitlin Rae Steiert, Miss Margueretta Wheelock Stolberg, Miss Caroline Jennifer Stone, Miss Bailey Grace Taber and Miss Vonda Jane Westlake.
