Well done to Beansheaf Pre-School
As you are probably aware, we work very closely
with Karen and her team at the Beansheaf PreSchool and welcome many of the children into our
Reception classes each year. We would like to
say a very big congratulations to them for
achieving ‘Good’ in their recent Ofsted report.
We know how hard they have all worked to
ensure that the pre-school will continue to be a
safe and enriching environment for all of the
children – well done!
News from Mrs Searle and Reception!
‘We had a lovely picnic lunch last Wednesday
with most parents attending. We would like to say
a big thank you to those who brought a 'bring and
share ' lunch'. The staff really appreciated roast
chicken and all its accompaniments! Time was
spent before the lunch looking at the children's
Learning Journey books and sharing the many
and varied learning steps that they have made.
We know the children and parents will treasure
the books which not only reflect their time in
Reception but also the progress they have made.
We have had a great year with the FS 2 children
and know the Year 1 teachers are in for a real
treat next year!’
I am sure you would all like to join me in wishing
Mrs Searle a very happy and well deserved
retirement. Mrs Searle has been with us for 14
years and has worked incredibly hard to ensure
that our children have had an amazing start to
their school life.

prospectus handed out on the Open Evening but
if you would like another one, please let the
school office know.
The cost of a meal at the Junior School will be
£2.20 per day in September.
Please be aware that we will only supply a
dinner if it has been paid for – thank you.
If your child is having a school dinner each day,
then you can pay weekly at the beginning of the
week which means cash or cheque for £11.00.
Obviously, we don’t want to be in a position of not
feeding your child but if an envelope is completed
in the morning without money, then we will call
you and ask you to supply a pack lunch.
Infant School Menu
You will have received a letter explaining about
the free meals in September together with a copy
of the menu – again if you do not have one,
please contact the school office.
Thank you for returning our questionnaire to help
us plan for September.
Calcot Schools’ Consultation
Thank you so much for returning the Calcot
Schools’ Consultation forms to help plan for the
future of the traffic flow outside of our school.
Please continue to park responsibly with regard
to our neighbours and drive slowly to ensure our
children stay safe. Thank you to Mr Rich for
manning the gate each morning and afternoon.
