Balfour Pre-College Academy: Once accepted as a Balfour Scholar, students attend a five-­‐day residential visit to Indiana University-­‐Bloomington. Academy students will participate in informational sessions and activities to develop their abilities to make informed and personalized decisions regarding their collegiate and career paths. Then throughout their senior year, students will continue to receive mentoring and access to resources to help make the transition to college a smooth one. The analytical skills learned through this program are transferable in nature and will allow students to leverage resources on any campus. For more information, download the BSP Pre-­‐

Eligible Students: You should apply if you:
1. Are completing your junior year of high school 2. Are enrolled in a college preparatory curriculum (Core 40 Diploma or Core 40 with Academic Honors Diploma in Indiana) 3. Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher Note: Priority given to African American, American Indian, and Latino/a students Essay: The three brief essay questions include: 1. Why do you want to go to college? 2. Why are you interested in attending the 2014 Balfour Scholars Pre-­‐College Academy? What do you hope to gain from this experience and how do you think it will help you in the future? 3. If selected, are there any specific academic programs (majors) and/or student services you would like to be connected with while you are on campus?
