HealthTerm ® Terminology Server enables data exchange and semantic interoperability in the health care sector HealthTerm is a software solution that manages the ehealth European Commission Project, epSOS, which is regarded as the world’s largest and most complex terminology project CareCom incorporates more than 15 years of in-depth industry know-how into the HealthTerm solution HealthTerm ® References • Founded in 1999, CareCom is today the leading European vendor of terminology server solutions within the health care sector. • HealthTerm master data management tool is the all in a box solution for large EMR’s for all types of work concerning terminologies and classifications. • HealthTerm references include: National Health Service in the UK, the national boards of health in both Denmark and Sweden as well as Canada Health Infoway and the e-health European Commission Project, epSOS. • In the epSOS project, HealthTerm enables the exchange of patient data between 23 countries using 27 different code systems, including ICD-9, ICD-10, SNOMED CT, HL7, LOINC and ATC. Patient data and terminology code systems are managed in many languages and in 23 local country extensions on a single HealthTerm terminology server. • HealthTerm ® Terminology Server • HealthTerm is built for scalability, performance, security and reliability, which is required in large scale projects like epSOS. • HealthTerm enables efficient and semantically accurate exchange of healthcare data between disparate sources to support interoperability, data warehouse, and analytics projects. • • It enables machine readable, structured and coded information. HealthTerm manages updating, cross mappings (e.g. conversion of ICD9 to ICD10), local term mapping, modelling, browsing, searching, subsets, editing, translation and distribution of medical vocabularies, administrative codes and own custom content as well as versioning of data (who created, deleted, edited, what and when). Data validation features such as allowed formats, field length and value range, ensures high quality of data www.carecom.com Run-time 1 • • Various types of web-services and API’s are supported to enable run-time look up and exchange of data across disparate systems in real time. • The HealthTerm App provides mobile access to clinical codes and documentation and facilitates knowledge sharing. Unique advantages Performance: HealthTerm is optimized to deliver response times under 200 ms for live lookups on enterprise wide installations. Architecture: Performance Reliability Are all your codes for reimbursement purposes registered correctly? If not, do you get the full re-imbursement you are entitled to? The integrated ‘Analytics’ gives you the answer! The solution is based on a modern, open and best practise architecture with standard components to ensure stability and scale-out and scale-up. For example, if an application server fails or does not respond, the system will still operate 100% because the application is based on a farm of clustered application servers. If the amount of end users increases significantly, HealthTerm can easily be scaled up to increase performance by adding more application servers or database servers to the same instance. Standard components include Oracle database, JBOSS application server and Apache web server. The web application is built on Java J2EE. HealthTerm is a web application and it offers the following advantages: It is independent of operating systems and platforms; there’s no need for distribution, installation, upgrading and uninstallation of client software on the user’s desktop. Security and reduced maintenance costs: HealthTerm provides a log of the changes made during content maintenance. Access control and user rights can be managed in a granular fashion in order to comply with the required set-up of the system. This also applies to a setup with multiple customers on a single instance / server. Security can be set on the user, user group and customer level. Customers can be granted rights to see other customers’ content if relevant. Maintenance costs and time are significantly reduced as master data, e.g. import of a new ICD-10 release, only needs to be updated in one source/instance, and new content is updated to all relevant customers where applicable. System optimization with Analytics: With the integrated analytics application you will get an insight into end user behaviour, e.g. get an overview of searches, and which users use which features in the application. With this knowledge, the application can be set up to optimize terminologies and pick lists, and adding synonyms and concepts for your organization. • Contact details Jacob Boye Hansen CEO +45 40 71 75 71 [email protected] 2
