Update: September 22nd, 2014 Meeting
At the September 22nd, 2014 meeting Council members:
Received an update on the Maternal-Child Quality Based Procedures (QBPs):
o Asthma and Sickle Cell Disease proposals submitted by PCMCH have been approved by
the MOHLTC
o The planned provincial induction policy has not been disseminated by HQO due to the
recent publication of conflicting evidence
o PCMCH will be discussing options for addressing c-sections with the MOHLTC
Reviewed the agenda for the Maternal-Child session at the November 2014 OHA HealthAchieve
Convention
Reviewed the following PCMCH financial information: 2013-14 budget reconciliation process;
2014-15 first quarter report; 2014-15 budget; and 2015-16 budget process
Received an update from the Neonatal Follow-Up Clinics Work Group and provided feedback
regarding the groups deliberations
Received a progress update from the Integrated Complex Care Advisory Committee and provided
feedback on upcoming initiatives
Received an update on the Paediatric Echocardiography demonstration project for remote
reading of paediatric echocardiograms sent from community hospitals to Paediatric Academic
Health Sciences Centres via ENITS
Reviewed the membership for the Paediatric Levels of Care Working Group
Reviewed and approved the Paediatric Patient Safety Proposal as a 2015-16 priority for the Child
and Youth Advisory Committee (CYAC) provided targeted funding is available to support this work
Reviewed the Maternal-Newborn Surge Strategy terms of reference and membership
Reviewed, provided feedback on, and approved the Perinatal Mood Disorders Proposal as a 201516 priority for the Maternal-Newborn Advisory Committee (MNAC)
Provided strategic direction regarding planning for Paediatric Sleep Labs in Ontario
Heard a presentation from Marian Mlakar and Mary Mannella on the MCYS Tele-Mental Health
Service expansion
Provided feedback on and approved a revised PCMCH vision, mission, and values statements
Provided feedback on the role of PCMCH as part of a strategic planning discussion
