Prof., MD, PhD, is the Head of the Department of Paediatric Diabetology at the Clinic of Paediatrics of the Medical University Children's Hospital at the Medical University of Warsaw, which is one of the largest paediatric diabetes centres in Poland. The department is responsible for the care of over 800 children with diabetes and over 100 newly diagnosed diabetic patients till 18 years of age. Agnieszka studied Human Medicine at the Medical University of Warsaw, specialized in paediatrics (1998) and diabetology (2007) and started the specialization in endocrinology (2012). In 2012 she was appointed Associate Professor of Paediatrics and Diabetology at the Medical University of Warsaw. She is currently a member of the board of Paediatric Section in the Polish Diabetes Association, Mazowiecki Regional Section of the Polish Diabetes Association and the Fundation of Children and Adolescents with Diabetes, and a member of ISPAD and EASD. Her main topic of interest is the management of type 1 diabetic children, especially education, psychology, nutrition, immunology and new technologies. She is a co-author of the teaching materials for persons with type 1 diabetes. She has published numerous papers in the field of paediatric diabetes and is presently involved in the number of research projects. Agnieszka is married and has two children. In her free time she likes to swim and sail.
