If you’re not in Prince George, you will be connecting from one of the other five designated video-‐linked sites in BC. This virtual format will help us increase access to participation and reduce travel costs. While we think we’ve covered all our bases for setting up this tech stuff, we ask for your patience as we work through this together. Here are a few simple strategies to get the most out of our video-‐conferences: Attending the videoconference event: 1. Each VC site will h ave access to IT support for connection issues. Please see page 8 for your VC site’s designated contact. 2. Each site will have a microphone(s) for 2 -‐way communication. Red generally indicates you are on mute; green indicates you are on the air! You don’t h ave to shout but do speak clearly and ensure you are close to the microphone. 3. We encourage contributions from all sites. If you would like to offer a question or comment, please raise your hand and a facilitator will ensure that your contribution is heard across all sites. 4. When you are speaking, be sure to speak directly into a camera/microphone. 5. Be patient. VC meetings move at a slightly slower pace because a two to three second delay for most systems to communicate. 6. Remove distractions and avoid wearing red. Apparently you will become a strobe light if you wear red. Resist turning into a strobe light! 6 1 Launch locations near you Six locations will be connected via videoconference for the Learning Session 1 of the HIV Continuum of Care Collaborative.
