2014 FALL PARENT CONFERENCES At Barrington Middle School- Prairie Campus, we are committed to strong lines of communication between teachers and parents. In addition to the on-going regular forms of communication that occur throughout the school year, specific time is set aside each year for more formal parent-teacher conferences. Fall parent-teacher conferences are being held this year on Wednesday, October 22nd from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM and Thursday, October 23rd from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM and from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Parent-teacher conferences held on Wednesday, October 22nd from 4:30-8:00 PM will utilize an arena type format. Arena style conferencing allows parents the ability to see all of their child’s teachers in one evening, without the need to make an appointment. There will be two blocks of team conferences on Thursday from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM and from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. As in the past, these conferences will be scheduled in advance by teams and will utilize a team conference structure. These team conferences are usually 20 minutes in length. Finally, I want to mention that Spanish translation services will be available to assist with communication during conferences on both days. Además de las maneras regulares de comunicación que siempre ocurren durante el año escolar, se separa cada año un tiempo específico para conferencias más formales de padre-maestro. Las conferencias de padre-maestro este otoño tendrán lugar el miércoles, 22 de octubre a partir de las 4:30 PM a 8:00 PM y el jueves, 23 de octubre a partir de las 12:00 mediodía a 3:00 PM y de las 4:00 PM a 7:00 PM. Las conferencias de padre-maestro que tendrá lugar el miércoles, 22 de octubre a partir de las 4:30-8:00 PM utilizarán un tipo de formato de campo abierto. Este estilo de conferencia ofrece a los padres la habilidad de ver a todos los maestros de su hijo/a en una noche, sin necesidad de hacer una cita. En las conferencias del jueves habrá dos bloques de conferencias de equipo de las 12:00 del mediodía a las 3:00 PM y de las 4:00 PM a las 7:00 PM. Como en el pasado, estas conferencias serán programadas con anticipación por los equipos y se utilizará una estructura de conferencia de equipo. Estas tipo de conferencias usualmente duran 20 minutos. Finalmente, quiero mencionar que habrá servicios de traducción en español para asistir con la comunicación durante las conferencias los dos días.
