THE ADMINISTRATIVE MARCH 2014 VOLUME 1 ISSUE 3 Our Mission The Purposes of the Office of the Commissioner for Burns (The O.C.B Administration) is to promote international peace and security, and to that end, assist at the international level-Member States with issues pertaining to Health & Human Services, Nuclear Disarmament, Burn Center Policy, Management and Necessary Support. Furthermore, ensure Positive Access to Education and Health Care, Eradication of Discrimination based upon Race, Sex, Creed and/or National Origin. “We must unite. Violence against women cannot be tolerated, in any form, in any context, in any circumstance, by any political leader or by any government.” -- Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN IS NOT ACCEPTABLE Violence against any human being is never tolerable. In the past women have been oppressed and their dignities have been stripped of them. Forced to live under a shadow in which men created and because these standards were created men have been able to inflict their will against women, physically and sexually abusing them. The O.C.B Administration condemns all forms of violence and sexual assault towards women and children. The international community must understand that violence and abuse of any woman will not be accepted. We firmly believe that those who commit these violations of Human Rights against women should be brought to justice, and tried at the highest standards of the law. The O.C.B Administration will continue to advocate for a world without abuse of women and children. To advocate for world where women are not raped as a war response, or for when a husband domestically abuses his wife under the roof of their safe haven. These acts are unacceptable and change is necessary for the greater good of the world. Commissioner’s Vision Of A World Without Gender Discrimination A message from the Commissioner “Equality for women is progress for all” -UN theme of this years International Women’s Day held on March 8th. Equality for all of humanity is progress for all, no matter what Race, Sex, Creed and/or National Origin, which is why we must emphasize that in order for us as humans to conquer issues we all face ahead of us, we must recognize that women, just as any other human, can contribute to these international issues. I commend all Member States for their continued effort in pursuing equal rights and opportunities for women, and particularly applauding those who have empowered women to be leaders in their countries. The O.C.B Administration recommends that Member States persist in providing equal opportunity for all genders in education, in labor and condemn all acts of violence towards women. Equality is what will unite us as one, and as one we may conquer all adversity.
