Prof. Tafah Edokat Oki Edward Vice Chancellor University of Bamenda Cameroon http://www.unibda.net Prof. Tafah Edokat Oki Edward, Vice Chancellor, University of Bamenda, Cameroon was born in 1956 in Oshie in Cameroon. He attended Primary School in his native Oshie village from where he proceeded to the prestigious Cameroon Protestant College in Bali. He obtained his Advanced Level Certificate in 1975. He enrolled for a BSc. Economics in 1976 in the University of Lagos Ngeria and graduated in 1979 with a Second Class Upper Honours. Prof. Tafah proceeded to the University of Ibadan where he obtained his MSc. Economics in 1981. He returned to Cameroon and was recruited to teach in the then Faculty of Economics and Management of the then University of Yaounde. He obtained his Ph.D Economics from the University of Lagos in 1989 specializing in the Economics of Education. Prof. Tafah has had a rich career in the Cameroon University system rising from Vice Dean in charge of Academic Affairs in the University of Yaounde II Soa from 1999 – 2003; Dean Faculty of Economics and Management, University of Dschang 2003 – 2009; Vice Rector in charge of Research and Cooperation, University of Dschang 2010 – 2011 and presently the Pioneer Vice Chancellor of the university of Bamenda since September 2011. Prof. Tafah had been a visiting professor/consultant to the collaborative Ph.D programme of the African Economics consortium based in Nairobi from 2000 to 2010. He has attended several international conferences and scientific meetings in which he has contributed papers. Prof. Tafah has published several scientific articles and is a member of the American Economic Association, West African Economic Association and Association of Third World Studies.
