MAPEX 2014 – “SPEND WISELY, INVEST SMARTLY”
10 - 12 OCTOBER 2014, Mid Valley Exhibition Centre, Kuala Lumpur
The Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association Malaysia (REHDA) is proud to announce
that the nation’s premier and most anticipated property fair; the Malaysia Property Exposition
(MAPEX) will be organized from 10 – 12 October 2014 (Friday – Sunday) at the Mid Valley
Exhibition Centre (MVEC), Kuala Lumpur. This 3-days exhibition will be opened to public from
10.00 am to 9.00 pm daily and will showcase a wide pool of properties for aspiring home owners.
Admission to the exposition is free.
YB Datuk Abdul Rahman bin Dahlan, the Minister of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local
Government has been invited to officiate the opening ceremony of MAPEX scheduled to take place
on the morning of 11 October 2014.
Themed “SPEND WISELY, INVEST SMARTLY”, this MAPEX provides house buyers with
choiced properties by reputable and licensed developers backed by attractive financing schemes and
serves as a platform for knowledge sharing on property investment with advice from property
experts, making it a complete one stop centre for house buyers who are in search of their dream
homes.
A total of 86 property developers; amongst them are Eco World, SP Setia Berhad, Glomac Bhd,
Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad, MRCB, Iskandar Waterfront Sdn Bhd, Narajaya Sdn Bhd,
Mitraland Cheras Sdn Bhd, Tropicana Corporation Bhd, LBS Bina Group Sdn Bhd, IJM Properties
Sdn Bhd, UEM Sunrise Bhd, I&P Group Sdn Berhad and many others have confirmed their
participation. Other participants include financial institutions as well as government agencies like
the National Housing Department of the Ministry of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local
Government (KPKT) and the Tribunal for Homebuyers Claim who will provide the relevant
assistance to house buyers.
“MAPEX October 2014 should not be missed by homebuyers and property investors as this is the
most opportune time to gain the best property deals before the Goods and Services Tax (GST)
comes into force in April next year,” said Datuk Ng Seing Liong, Chairman of the MAPEX Committee.
“With the 6% tax imposition on building materials and services, we anticipate that GST will have
an impact on cost of construction and development which will eventually affect house prices.
House buyers therefore should not wait any further,” added Datuk Ng.
MAPEX, as Datuk Ng described has been an excellent venue to shop for properties whether for
own occupation or even for investment. “I urge members of the public to grab the chance to visit
this MAPEX and explore the opportunities as there are not only local residential and commercial
properties offered for sale but also overseas property development such as in Melbourne, Brisbane
and Sydney, Australia,” said Datuk Ng further.
Datuk Ng also reiterated the importance of buying from licensed developers with good delivery
track records. In this respect REHDA is pleased to inform that participating developers at MAPEX
are duly licensed by the Ministry of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government.
