While the initiative to address beyond-financing agenda is crucial, it is equally imperative to appreciate today’s changing
complexion and intricate dimension by the rapid changing economic landscape and investors’ expectations. As such,
the financing structures require fresh innovative approach and packaging that match and map both the requirements
and their expectations, in particular their returns on investments.
This session shall discuss some new innovative approaches in adding values to address the issues. This could ensure that

CROSS BORDER ENGAGEMENT – The Challenges of the DFIs’ and SMEs’ Collaboration in Sustaining Growth
Entrepreneurs involved in cross-border business engagement often face issues in enhancing both market as well as
financing access. These are made more challenging by not only the foreign exchange risk exposure, but ever-changing
business landscape of participating countries, their political-legal risks, technological requirements, resource talents and
the likes. The risks escalate further when the financing products availability and the cross-border participating DFIs are
cross-border business deals, the situations are more perplexing for the SMEs.
This session shall discuss such challenges and explore means of addressing such issues, in the context of initiating
structured networks of collaborative DFIs-SMEs environment.
