WIND TUNNEL FACILITY
PWR’s wind tunnel testing facility was needed to maintain our leading edge developments. The size and scope is impressive –it is 30 metres long, 2 metres wide at the widest
point, can test coolers up to 1 metre square in face area, can test for virtually all cooling systems from water radiators, to engine oil coolers, to transmission oil coolers, to
intercoolers and more.
PWR designed and built the full facility itself, helped by some of the leading
race teams around the world in the design features.The wind tunnel test
facility allows different core configurations to be tested, giving PWR a
distinct competitive advantage in product development. The facility allows
for rapid prototyping to be tested, and provides the adaptability required
to service PWR our customers.
PWR’s engineers are able to fine tune the performance characteristics of
each product for their exact purpose for a customer, using the wind tunnel
facility to vary: Air velocity and pressure. Air, water and oil temperatures and
Coolant flow rate. The wind tunnel allows real world conditions in terms of
heat transfer, coolant pressure drop and airside pressure drop to be
simulated and monitored, ensuring nothing is left to chance in achieving
the optimal result for the required circumstances.
Data includes Heat Rejection and Dissipation Coefficients, Air and
Liquid side pressure drops for a wide range of data points for each sample
test. Mass flows of all fluids are accurately adjusted and monitored
to provide test conditions for each desired data point, while
ambient conditions of temperature, pressure and relative
humidity are all logged.
Importantly the wind tunnel also allows for ‘in series’ testing of
multiple cooling components (e.g. the testing of an oil cooler
in front of a radiator) in order to best replicate real world
scenarios.A number of race teams from around the world have
already used the wind tunnel to test existing cores and use PWR
technology to build and test better cores in their quest for the
winning edge.

All PWR radiators are manufactured by hand from our state of the art facilities on the Gold
Coast. PWR produce all product from high grade Aluminium incorporating a unique wider
tube configuration and revolutionary louver fin design angle, which maximises the cooling
efficiencies and disbursement of heat. With these characteristics each PWR radiator will deliver
consistent durability, strength and performance for today’s demands.
PWR also specialise in custom units.
If we don’t have it listed we can make it to suit your specifications. We can manufacture a
radiator from your sample, mud map, cardboard template or just simply send us your drawing.

CORE SPECIFICATIONS
PWR’s Dimple radiator tubes can increase your radiator’s efficiency by over 10%. PWR’s in-house design introduces hundreds of small dimple restrictions which slows water
flow in each tube thus creating more active flow across the tubes. This increases the heat transfer efficiency of our core. We recomend you speak to one of our sales team to
check which size and style will best suit your requirements.

The ever Popular Mazda RX Cooling Package includes
a High Performance Radiator in a 2 pass design
with fan mounts for the 16” thermo fan. PWR’s high
pressure oil cooler is designed to bolt directly to the
bottom of the radiator and is available in an 8 row or
10 row core height option.
The Mazda RX Intercoolers are available in various
sizes depending on your engine specifications and
upgrades. We offer multiple outlet sizes to suit your
custom pipework and make installation as easy as

Air to Air Intercoolers
PWR use a revolutionary seamless rounded leading edge tube
design throughout the manufacturing process. These tubes have
an integrated internal fin with a straight through design, which
improves heat transfer for less pressure drop, resulting in higher
flow and reduced lag time. PWR intercoolers are individually hand
manufactured and can be custom designed by in house “Auto CAD”
design division or simply just replace your current OEM system for
better flow and performance.

PWR has your weight covered with its Lightweight Intercooler option used for
all race applications worldwide. This unique style of core design can see weight
savings of 50% or more. The Lightweight Intercoolers are designed to ensure
strength and efficiency are not sacrificed to suit your custom race application.

Air to Ice Intercoolers
The New Air to “Ice Barrel” utilises a unique straight through
tube arrangement like the “Liquid to Air” Barrel design,
however the “Ice Barrel” is designed specifically to run ICE and
incorporates wide 18mm Tube Pitch, a Finless Ice compartment,
sealed access lid and CO2 Breather fiting which gives this unit
a unique design and the first available in the market. Overall
dimensions of 485 x 205 x 270 with 4” Tapered Outlets as
used on 8×8 and 8×10 “Liquid to Air” Barrels. The NEW PWR
“ICE BARREL” Australian Designed and Made product that is
designed around the drag racing market with excellent results
over short bursts like the quarter mile or even dyno shoots.
Liquid to Air Intercoolers
The PWR Liquid to Air Barrel Intercooler is a world first exclusive in
its design for the industry. The Radical cylindrical shape was designed
for drag and street applications, providing maximum cooling,
airflow and performance efficiencies. The 12-volt pump circulates
water throughout the barrel providing a stable outlet temperature
and the unique internal baffle system ensures an even amount of
cooling is provided within the barrel itself. The system requires no
ambient (external) airflow, which enables the unit to be mounted as
close to the manifold as possible, reducing turbo lag and providing
maximum performance. The PWR Liquid to Air Barrel Intercoolers
is available as an individual unit or in “Kit Form” and are suited to
machines producing horse power between 270-1200+ HP. The PWR
Barrel intercooler comes in (7) seven different sizes and are finished
in a near chrome finish. PWR are now releasing 5” diameter barrel
coolers to add to our extensive range of water to air intercoolers.
The 5” barrels will fill that gap between the 6” barrels and the
smaller 4” barrels. A lot of turbo charged cars do make between the
400-550engine hp and the 6” barrels are generally too big to fit in
most of the smaller cars engine bays. Range includes 5”x6’ (400hp),
5”x8’(450hp) and 5”x10” (550hp). They have 2.5” outlets and 19mm
water hose tails or -12 male fittings. Call our sales team today to place

PWR’s revolutionary turbulized design universal plate and fin engine oil coolers are made of a full Aluminium construction that allows the cooler to be lightweight, compact and
rigid while offering high corrosion resistance. The unique internal turbulized fins within the plates maximise heat transfer and re-direct the oil flow, which works in conjunction
with the unique louvered fin design to provide highly efficient cooling with low-pressure drop. PWR plate and fin engine oil coolers are manufactured in 37mm core size for race
and street applications.

Intank Oil Coolers (Engine Oil or Transmission Oil)
The PWR In-Tank engine oil coolers are made from a full aluminium construction with
a unique internal fin design which turbulates the oil , aiding in better heat dispersion
and distribution of oil flow. At cold start up the increasing hot water ensures the oil gets
to optimum operating temperature as quick as possible and stable temperatures are
provided. All coolers are tested to 300psi and 100% Australian made by PWR.

tubes have a unique wall thickness to withstand high pressures seen in the oil system.
Fabricated tanks finish these oil coolers off nicely with a wide range of adaptors

If you’re looking for the Ultimate in cooling efficiency, this is the latest in water to
oil cooling technology to maximise your results. Its thermal efficiency has been
proven in race conditions worldwide and high performance street applications
when plumbed in to the cooler side water outlet of the radiator system. This
innovative design provides maximum liquid to surface contact on both the water
and oil sides but yet proves to be a high flowing unit to ensure minimal pressure
drops in each of the fluid systems. The Billet oil tanks also provide that extra
strength to handle the high pressures that can be seen in the oil system and
requiring no airflow they are perfect when minimal space is limited. With 3 sizes

PWR’s Patented dimpled design universal plate and fin transmission oil coolers
are made of a full aluminium construction that allows the cooler to be lightweight,
compact and rigid while offering high heat transfer and corrosion resistance.
PWR plate and fin transmission coolers are manufactured in 19mm core size for
transmission, power steering and differential cooling for race and road
applications as well as small engine cooling. Standard product range
fittings include 3/8”, 5/16” hose barb and dash 6AN screw fittings.

Special Order Custom Radiator Guide
Whether it is a radiator, oil cooler, intercooler or some other type of automotive or mechanical cooling solution, PWR design team can create the product to suit your
needs. PWR has engineering team backed by a drawing team using the latest SolidWorks® 3D CAD modelling to design a solution that works. Or if you are after just
a few tweaks to already designed product, we can quickly draw your changes and get you to review them. If you have a existing radiator that you want replaced, you
can provide a rough drawing of it for our design team to draw. Or if you want something that has never been drawn, we can guide you through to your solution. When
ordering your radiator or intercooler please include as much detail as possible (drawings, Photos, Vehicle specs) to speed up the drafting process and to ensure the best
suited unit to your vehicle. You can also mock up the unit with carboard, foam or other materials to supply a measurable template with markings for mounts and outlets.
