The assembly will be held on the turf (weather permitting) and will begin promptly at 9.15 am. School News and and Notices All in Sports Day - tomorrow Wednesday 5 February. Students should come to school in uniform and bring suitable clothes (in house colours) to wear. If postponed a notice will be put on the school facebook page. Bus Information – is currently being updated as numbers are confirmed and will be available on our website by the end of this week. Absence In case of unexpected absence please ring our Attendance Line (telephone 3495940 then press 1). In most cases a note will not be required if contact is made in this way. Extended, planned absences should be discussed with the level dean in good time so that appropriate arrangements can be made. Duty Dean A staff member is on duty in the Duty Dean office throughout the school day. Any student arriving after the school day has begun, or leaving the school grounds for an appointment, is required to sign the register at the Duty Dean office. A telephone is available here for student use in emergencies. Student Support Centre: The school nurse, guidance counsellors, community liaison worker and careers/Gateway advisors are based in the Student Support Centre. Doctors and physiotherapists operate clinics at the Centre during the week. Students are able to make appointments for these services with the Student Support Centre receptionist. Kamar Portal Students can use their school computer log-in details to access the Kamar portal (accessed from our website www.whhs.school.nz). Caregivers can also receive log in details – email [email protected] to request them. Te Panui As indicated on our enrolment form, all new enrolments will be registered to receive this newsletter electronically. The newsletter is also available on our website and on our facebook page. Co-Curricular News and Notices Volunteers Required: We are currently looking for volunteers who can Coach or be a Manager in the following Sports codes: Boys and Girls Soccer Waterpolo Netball Touch Rugby. Congratulations to our Junior Boys Touch Rugby Team who came runner up against RBHS in the local Rotorua Touch Rugby Competition which was held on Wednesday afternoons during Term 4 2013. The final game was exciting, lots of tries being scored and the pace was very fast. The other teams that also competed and deserve commendation for their fantastic efforts are the Junior Girls Team, Senior Boys and Senior Mixed Teams. Students who were outstanding during the season were Liam Preston, Tristan Taute-Collier, Kiani TuakanaHudson, Jesse Grimes, Reuben Griffiths, Khan Raharuhi, Brooke Simpkins, Jessie Wharekura, Zyra Mclean, Myar Sargent, Hayley Merriman, Sharntae Hicks, Tayla Macdougall, Lauryn Stevens and Angel Harrison.
