BPAC is responsible for the Pan Am Badminton Championships, as the Continental body for our sport. Team and Individual events competitions are held. As such, these Regulation are to be followed. 2. Continental Championships are graded as a Grand Prix tournament and will be handled according to Level 3 event: a) b) c) d) e) Entry Deadline – September 16th. TEAM EVENT a) Each competing Member Association is responsible for determining the criteria and method of selecting players for nomination, and for nominating players, to represent its Association. b) Each competing Member Association shall nominate to the BPAC, not fewer than two male and no fewer than two female players; and no more than 10 male and no more than 10 female players, from whom its team will be selected for a tie, within the stipulated time. c) Nomination of team for a tie, each team manager shall hand to the Referee within stipulated time fixed before the start of any tie the composition of the team for each tie. d) These players shall be selected from those previously nominated entry list. e). Method of Competition: 5 a. Less than 6 teams—Round Robin (top 2 seeded teams play last tie) b. 6 to 8 teams—2 pools where top 2 teams in each pool play feed into a crossover 4 team knockout draw with 3rd place playoff. Consolation play for pool losers. c. 8 to 11 teams—pools of 3 or 4 teams where top 2 teams in each pool play feed into a 6 team knockout draw with 3rd place playoff. Consolation play for pool losers and first round draw losers when possible. d. 12 to 16 teams-pools of 3 or 4 teams where top 2 teams in each pool play feed into a 8 team knockout draw with 3rd place playoff. Consolation play for pool losers and first round draw losers when possible. f) Seeding: e. Based on previous Pan American Team Championships results. f. 8 teams or less—2 seeds g. More than 8 teams—1 seed per pool g) Sudirman regulations to take note h. If there are more than two groups the seeds 1 & 2 have the first spot in the groups A & B. i. The seeds 3 & 4, their positions will be lot for the first or second place of the groups C or A & B. j. Knock-out stage, the draw for the knock-out stage of the Competition shall be done immediately after the last match of the group play off is over. h) No more than two ties per team will be played per day.
