Conference Scope The LiM - Lasers in Manufacturing is the perfect platform for efficient knowledge transfer in the field of lasers and their applications. The LiM is organized by the German Scientific Laser Society (WLT). The LiM is devoted to scientific presentations on the latest research results. Following the common code of good scientific practice the presentations shall be complete, comprehensible, and verifiable. All contributions for the LiM will undergo a review process by the scientific committee. Conference Topics Submission of Contributions The LiM consists of two sub-conferences, one for macro and one for micro applications, and joint sessions with ECLEO, featuring a planned content of more than 100 papers papers. January 31, 2015 Half-page abstract deadline. Macro Processing Chair: Frank Vollertsen, BIAS, Bremen - Joining (Welding & Brazing) - Cutting - Surface Treatment and Cladding - Additive Manufacturing - System Technology - Process Monitoring and Control Micro Processing Chair: Ludger Overmeyer, Laser Zentrum Hannover - Micro-Joining (Welding and Brazing) - Ablation, Drilling, and Micro-Cutting - Surface Functionalization - Processing of Transparent Materials - Fundamentals and Process Simulation - System Technology - Process Monitoring and Control The LiM focuses on the latest developments as well as future trends in the field of laser materials processing. The conference topics address anyone who is interested in the potential of lasers in manufacturing in theory and application. Joint Sessions with ECLEO Ch i Ludger Chair: L d O Overmeyer, L Laser Z Zentrum t Hannover H - Tech Focus Session: Ultrafast Lasers and Their Applications - Joint Session: Diagnostics and Control It is the aim of the LiM to bring together international experts from research and industry in order to match scientific advances and economic needs for mutual benefit. Social Event The LiM is a part of the World of Photonics Congress 2015. This allows to coordinate joint sessions in order to highlight topics at the interface of the thematic areas covered by the participating conferences. We invite you to join LiM and be a part of our international community sharing ideas in inspiring talks and discussions. Stuttgart/Bochum, August 2014 Thomas Graf Andreas Ostendorf (General Chair LiM 2015) (President of the WLT) Organizer: Michael Zäh, TU Munich An evening reception will be organized on Tuesday, June 23, 2015. Participation is included in the conference fee, registration is required. Abstracts must be uploaded via www.wlt.de/lim: 1. Length: One half page A4 (Arial 12 points) 2. Language: English 3. Data Type: MS-Word The following information must be included: 1. Author(s) (please underline the corresponding author) 2 Full address for correspondence 2. 3. Title of paper 4. Keywords (see Conference Topics) All submitted abstracts are reviewed by the Scientific Committee. February 28, 2015 Acceptance decision note and delivery of template for the proceeding contribution. Accepted papers have to be presented orally at the LiM 2015. May 15, 2015 Two to ten pages proceedings deadline. Conference Proceedings The conference proceedings of the LiM will be published on a memory stick. A printed abstract booklet will be handed out to the participants. Editors T. Graf, IFSW, University of Stuttgart L. Overmeyer, Laser Zentrum Hannover F. Vollertsen, BIAS, Bremen The World of Photonics Congress The WLT and its targets The German Scientific Laser Society (WLT) is a non-profit association, whose goal is to support the scientific aspects of laser technology. Among the main targets are coordination of scientific work, work supporting national and international technology transfer, consulting for national and European research programs, stimulation of cooperation between its members, helping setting up norms and targets in the field of laser technology, and presenting laser technology to general public. The World of Photonics Congress brings together a large number of different conferences and meetings covering all topics relevant to the development of modern laser and photonic science and technology. In 2015 several joint sessions will highlight topics at the interface of the thematic areas covered by the participating conferences. conferences This will include ultrafast lasers and their applications in materials processing, emerging areas in biophotonics, and metrology in advanced optics. Joint sessions are especially marked in the calls for papers and programs. Scientific Committee E. Beyer, Fraunhofer IWS Dresden, TU Dresden, Germany A. Conzelmann, Trumpf Grüsch, Switzerland E.
