ever mindful of his covenant.

The One who pardons, heals, and strengthens all who repent calls us to name our failings
and our hopes. Let us confess our sin in the presence of God and one another.

casts out destructive forces, we confess that we are unable to do your will.
We protect what is familiar and reject what is unknown. We admire those with

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,
born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he
descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven,
and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to
judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the

service today. All active members of SCAPC are encouraged to attend this meeting. The purpose is to:
1. Present the 2015 church budget

3. Elect the Congregational Nominating Committee
4. Approve changes to the Pastor's terms of call.

Rooted: The Apostles’ Creed
“I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in…” On a weekly basis, we join together
to say what we believe. The words of The Apostles’ Creed are so familiar that we don’t always need to print
them in the bulletin when we call for the weekly recitation of our beliefs. But what do these words mean?
What have we committed to when we repeat them? And why these words? The Apostles’ Creed class will
explore the history, the meaning, and the intent of The Apostles’ Creed, basing our discussion on this book
by local Rolling Elvi minister, Ray Cannata.

Souper Bowl of Caring to help tackle hunger in our city. If you brought non-perishable food items to donate,
please place them in the bins in Frampton Fellowship Hall or give them to the students from the Challenger
Class, stationed after the services collecting cash and food donations. All proceeds benefit Second Harvest

Presbyterian Women’s February Bible Study Meetings – This year’s study is titled, Reconciling Paul, A
Contemporary Study of 2 Corinthians. Paul, like us, wrestled with and questioned his faith as he tried to live
as authentically as possible in a world that was also in the midst of significant change. All women are invited
to join any of the three PW Bible study groups (meeting once per month):

The Tuesday evening group will meet at 5:45 p.m. on Feb. 10 in the Land Building.

The Monday group will meet at 11:45 on Feb. 9 for lunch in Frampton Fellowship Hall
•
The Lambeth House group will meet at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 9 in the LH Chapel.
Each group covers the same lesson, so choose the one that best fits your schedule! Study books are $8 and

Christian Book Discussion (CBD) Study Group - Please join the Christian Book Discussion (CBD) group
each Wednesday morning from 7am - 8am. We meet in the CBD at Between the Bread Restaurant (625 St.
Charles Avenue). We are currently reading Resident Aliens by Stanley Hauerwas and William H. Willimon.
The only requirement is a tenacious appetite for reading, the desire for lively discussion, and a thirst for new

Book Donations Needed for the Johnson Community Garden's Free Library - The James Weldon Johnson
Community Garden is looking for book donations for their Free Library. If you have any books (specifically

Scotland 2015! - There are still a few spaces open for SCAPC’s trip to Scotland this summer, July 28 – August
8. Led by Don Frampton, the tour includes:
• Glasgow, its fabulous museums, and a day trip to historic Stirling Castle
• Iona, the legendary Hebrides island, the home of western Christianity
• Loch Ness cruise, where we will surely see the monster(!)
• Culloden, the famous battleground and last stand for the forces of Bonnie Prince Charlie
• St. Andrews, its castle and university, and also the birthplace of golf (surprise, surprise!)
• And Edinburgh, one of Europe’s most fascinating cities, its ancient Castle, the Holyrood Palace, and the
home of John Knox. While there we will take in the world famous Royal Military Tattoo, Scotland’s
annual festival of bagpipe bands from all over the world.
