Scout Sunday
February 1st Central Christian Church is celebrating Scout Sunday.
You will notice this year that we have Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts AND
Girl Scouts in attendance. Both 10:15 services will begin with a
flag ceremony led by our scouts and will close with flag retrieval.
Scouting is a ministry of Central. Central offers space to all of
these Scouts as a place to hold meetings, and provides leadership
and hospitality to these programs that build character in young
people. Central has in the last few months opened its doors to
Pack 3 as there was space available. Girl Scouts have been meeting in our church
for a couple years. Boy Scout Troop 2 has been chartered with Central for 68 years
in a row. That is a long standing ministry of people who have formed a relationship
with our church.
WNF Bible Class
Beginning February 4th, as part of Wednesday Night Fellowship, we will have a
Bible class based on Adam Hamilton’s book, Final Words from the Cross. This class
examines Christ’s dying hours and his final words as seen through the eyes and
ears of those who stood near the cross. Each class will start at 6:45 pm in the
chapel and have scripture, a ten-minute video, discussion and prayer. Class topics
include:
Father, Forgive Them
Today You Will Be With Me in Paradise
Behold Your Son. . . Behold Your Mother
My God, My God, Why Have You Forsaken Me?
I Thirst
It Is Finished . . . Into Your Hands I Commit My Spirit

The Company We Keep
As we spend time with family, friends, coworkers and neighbors, be the best advocate
you can be for our church. Tell our story –
the story of how our church makes a difference in our lives and in the lives of others.
Our story includes:
We are one of the few churches in Enid that have both traditional and
contemporary worship services.
We have a vibrant Sunday school program and weekday Bible classes for all
ages. In our classes, a person can make personal relationships, learn about God
and better know Jesus Christ.
We have over 35 young adults who regularly attend worship.
Most churches have declining finances. Our finances are growing and have
never been better.
We average 4-7 visitors attending our services every week.
We have opportunities for overseas mission trips.
Our programs that minister to older adults are second to none.
Our programs for children –“Worship and Wonder” and “Following Jesus”- have
no equal in Enid.
We have excellent opportunities for summer camps and weekend retreats for
teenagers.
We have so much to be proud of at Central Christian Church. Tell our story.
Invite. Welcome. Thank God.

be a Sunday School, could be an evening Bible Study, could be a movie once in a
while. Who knows? I am looking forward to finding out. ~ John Wheeler
Coffee Stains
I give my heartfelt appreciation to all our families that
stayed to listen to me talk about Youth Ministry on
Sunday following church. We served about 70 folks and
had most of the potatoes taken home by the time the kitchen closed. Our teenagers in
attendance: Nicole Bushman, Brenna Bushman, Daija Courtney, Brent Tilley, Emily
Angleton, Connor Angleton, Carol Jarrett, Jordan Villalva, and Taylor Foster, all
appreciate your support for them to continue to do
youth ministry events.
Our church is committed to helping kids go to camp,
regional events, and fun
local things. The money
raised helps our kids
attend these events.
Thanks to all our donors
that made the Baked
Potato Pile On the
success that it was.
Peace, JW.
