ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR, INSTITUTE OF NUCLEAR SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY
– 1 POST-AC/1/16/15 – (R&T)
Applicants must be holders of a Ph.D. degree in Nuclear Science or related field from a recognized
university. They must have at least eight (8) years’ teaching experience at both at undergraduate and
postgraduate levels, three(3)of which must be at Senior Lecturer level. They must have supervised at
least two (2) PhD students and three (3) Masters students to completion. Applicants must have at
least five (5) publications in refereed journals or three (3) publications and two (2) chapters in
scholarly books since the last promotion.
The successful candidates will be expected to teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate students
and to initiate, conduct and supervise original research in their areas of specialization. They will also
be expected to participate in Departmental, Faculty, College and University matters.
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR, DEPARTMENT OF ORAL & MAXILLOFACIAL SURGERY
– 2 POSTS-AC/1/17/15 – (R&T)
Applicants must be holders of a Ph.D. degree with at least a Master of Dental Surgery (MDS)
degree in relevant field of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Dental & Maxillofacial Diagnostic
Radiology or Oral Pathology& Oral Medicine from a recognized university. They must have at least
eight (8) years’ teaching experience at both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, three(3)of
which must be at Senior Lecturer level. They must have supervised at least two (2) PhD students
and three (3) Masters students to completion. Applicants must have at least five (5) publications in
refereed journals or three (3) publications and two (2) chapters in scholarly books since the last
promotion.

SENIOR LECTURER, DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY- 1 POST AC/1/18/15–(R&T)
Applicants must be holders of a PhD degree in Chemistry from a recognized university. They
should have at least five (5) years teaching experience at both undergraduate and post graduate
degree levels and must have supervised at least three (3) Masters Students to completion. They must
have experience in research as evidenced by publications in refereed journals. In addition, they
should have at least four (4) publications in refereed journals or two (2) publications in refereed
journals and two (2) chapters in scholarly books since last promotion.

The successful candidates will be expected to teach and supervise at both undergraduate and

LECTURER, DEPARTMENT OF CLINICAL STUDIES -1 POST-AC/1/19/15- (CAVS)
Applicants must be holders of a PhD degree in Clinical Studies from a recognized university.
Applicants who possess a Masters degree in Clinical Studies and have at least three (3) years teaching
experience at University level and are registered for a PhD degree in Clinical Studies will also be
considered. They should have research experience, with at least two (2) publications in refereed
journals or two chapters in scholarly books. They should show evidence of continuing research
activity. They must be active members of the Kenya Veterinary Association and registered with
Kenya Veterinary Board.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach and supervise at both undergraduate and
postgraduate students in Veterinary Clinical Medicine and undertake further research in their areas
of specialization and also participate in Departmental activities. They must be prepared to work
outside normal working hours including weekends.
CHIEF ICT OFFICER (MIS) – 3 POSTS- ICT CENTRE- AC/1/20/15- ( R&T)
Must have minimum MSc in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent qualifications
from a recognized institution OR Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or
equivalent qualifications with 3 years relevant working experience

c) To develop adequate documentation for systems;
d) To train system users appropriately;

f) To identify tools and service requirements and advice on their procurement;

Experience:
a) Must have 3 years systems development experience;

Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of MSc Degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or an
equivalent qualification OR a BSc in any of the above areas with 3 years experience
Skills:
(a)Must have technical skills in networks infrastructure management;
(b)Must have effective communication and group management skills;
(c)Must have good systems analytical skills; and
(d)Must have good interpersonal skills
Duties and responsibilities:
Under the general supervision of the Network infrastructure Manager to implement and maintain
University Network Infrastructure
More specifically:
a) To assist in the design, implementation and management of Network Infrastructure in line with
the established policies, standards and procedures;
b) To liaise with users in order to define and implement Network Infrastructure projects;
c) To provide high-level maintenance and support for Network Infrastructure in line with the
established standards;
d) To maintain robust Network Infrastructure security mechanisms;
e) To monitor and fine-tune the performance of Network Infrastructure;
f) To identify tools, services and facility requirements and advice on their procurement;
g) To perform any other duties assigned by the Network infrastructure Manager.
Experience:
a) Must have at least 3 years network management in a corporate environment;

(d) To train users on rolled out systems;
(e) To perform any other duties assigned by the Director (Information and Communication

SENIOR TECHNOLOGIST GRADE DEF, DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL &
ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING- 1 POST -AD/1/23/15- (CAE)
Applicants must be holders of a BSc. Degree or Higher Diploma in Electrical , Electronics,
telecommunications or Mechatronics Engineering r equivalent plus five (5) years experience at the
level of Technologist Grade ABC or equivalent in a busy teaching laboratory.
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the preparation and teaching of
practical work for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

ASSISTANT SENIOR SECRETARY GRADE C, BOARD OF POST- GRADUATE

Applicants should be holders of at least a KCSE C or KCE Div. III or an equivalent qualification
with a credit in English Language. In addition they must have passed the following subjects offered
by the Kenya National Examinations Council or equivalent examining body:Business English III
Commerce II
Secretarial Duties II
Office Management III
Shorthand III (minimum 120 wpm) or Audio-Typewriting III
Typewriting 50 wpm
They should have certificates in and be able to use Word Processing, Spreadsheets and Data Base
Management packages and at least three (3) years experience as Secretary Grade B or a comparable
position of responsibility for this grade. They should have knowledge of Anti-virus Tools.
SECRETARY GRADE B, ICT CENTRE - 1 POST- AD/1/25/15 -( R&T)
Applicants should be holders of at least a KCSE C or KCE Div. III or an equivalent qualification
with a credit in English Language. In addition they must have passed the following subjects offered
by the Kenya National Examinations Council or equivalent examining body:Business English III

REGISTRY CLERK GRADE III- 1 POST- INSTITUTE FOR DEVELOPMENT
STUDIES- AD/1/26/15- (CHSS)
Applicants should be holders of at least a KCSE D+ or KCE Div. III with credits in English and
Mathematics or equivalent and at least three (3) years experience in Grade II. Applicants with a
KCE Division IV and a Certificate in Archives & Records Management, computer application
packages , typing skills and have at least eight ( 8) years working experience at grade II will also be
considered.
