Comenius Art-Day Thursday 29 January 2015

Comenius Art-Day Thursday 29 January 2015
In Belgium we had the Art-Day on our National Poetry Day. So we decided to link the
two subjects together.
The theme of our National Poetry Day was “LOVE”! So we used art and the technique
from Nikki de St Phalle and Claude Viallat to create artworks linked to poetry.
3 and 4 years old had a poem about a kiss and they used the technique from Claude
Viallat. They made heart shaped stamps to make a print for a heart shaped cosy
pillow!
5 and 6 years old used the painting “the kiss” from Gustave Klimt. They are preparing
a wedding party and they used the technique form Claude Viallat to create the
wedding dress and the table cloth.
7, 8 and 9 years old we’re inspired by Keith Harring and they used the technique from
Nikki de St Phalle. But the result is not a nana but a big heart with arms and legs!
They also made little hearts using potatoe stamps. These will be put on a “love” wall!
The oldest children had a lot of workshops where they wrote poems, made little nanas
of clay, …. These will be put in frames with the poems they wrote!
You see … we had another wonderful Comenius Talent Day!
