The Saint who started this tradition was St. Valentine. Such a coincidence. This holiday is celebrated in many countries. It actually meant: feast of Valentine. There are many origins on Valentine's Day. A man named: Saint Valentine was imprisoned for preaching at weddings for soldiers who were forbidden to marry and was ministering to Christians. I have recently joined Circuit Rider. :) Anyway, I’ll tell you about the characters. Bilbo Baggins- He is a hobbit. (Main Character obviously) Thorin Oakensheild. HE is the whole reason Bilbo is going on this adventure. Thorin didn’t have any confidence in Bilbo. Along the way, Bilbo showed Thorin that he can do things and he is confident. Fili– He is the youngest brother of Kili. He has keen eyes and the youngest of the group.( Bilbo is 50 years old) Balin_ brother of Dwalin. Dwalin– Balin’s younger brother. Very...hard hated I should say. Oin– He is the brother of Gloin. He is and his brothers were in charge of the fires. Dori– He carried Bilbo on his back. Bilbo is a very very small fellow. Nori– Not much to say about him. He was very funny. Loved the mountain to death. Ori– He had confidence in the little hobbit. Most of them did. Bifur cousin of Bofur and Bombur. Bofur– Brother of Bombur. Cousin of Bifur. Bombur– He had lots of sympathy for the little hobbit. He was very very fat too. Don’t forget about Gandalf!!! Gandalf– He brought the little hobbit and knew he would do great things. That the Hobbit did. I hope you guys like this issue a lot! <—- Isn’t that amazing?! LJHS Circuit Rider February Issue 2015 These are just some of the basics of the wonderful and the best instrument that there is. The trumpet is a very hard instrument to play…..yet it is very fun!! You have this mouthpiece that is round…. and you buzz your lips. It might seem like it would tickle but it doesn’t……. Well it does until you get used to it but you get my point. There are many different notes that you can hit on the trumpet. It may seem hard to play because you only have 3 keys, but it’s not bad. When you first start it is very hard and you may feel like giving up on life. YOU SHOULDN”T!!!!! The trumpet is truly the best instrument there is! Unless you talk to somebody who plays a different instrument. So Don’t. Take my word for it that the trumpet is the best. The trumpet requires a lot of air. Hence the term “wind instrument.” The water key is very gross. How that makes me feel– Ewwwww. They also come in all shapes, sizes, and colors! *If you want to join band or play the trumpet, talk to Mrs. Larson in the band room.
