donate to St. Mary’s Food Bank.
We have a lot of events planned
this coming year. Our event Calendar is located on the back of the newsletter. You
may also check our website for all updated events.
If you have any event ideas contact Shawna Swetman LifeWorks Coordinator. We are always looking
for fresh new ideas.
Upcoming Events

Buy Smart
Buy in bulk. Purchasing food from bulk bins
can save money and packaging
Wear clothes that don't need to be dry cleaned.
This saves money and cuts down on toxic
chemical use.
Invest in high quality, long lasting products.
You might pay more now, but you’ll be happy
when you don't have to replace items as frequently
Create your own cleaning supplies
The big secret: you can make very effective,
non-toxic cleaning products whenever you
need them. All you need are a few simple ingredients like baking soda, vinegar, lemon and
soap.
Making your own cleaning products saves
money, time and packaging – not to mention
our indoor air quality

HVAC General Maintenance
“The most important maintenance task that will
ensure the efficiency of your air conditioner is to
routinely replace or clean the filters. Clogged, dirty
filters block normal air flow and reduce a system’s
efficiency significantly. With normal air flow obstructed, air that by passes the filter may carry dirt directly
into the evaporator coil and impair the coil’s heat–
absorbing capacity. Keeping the filter clean can
lower your air conditioner’s energy consumption by
5%-15%”

Pest Control
Garbage Disposal Magic
Tossing citrus peels in your garbage disposal keeps it smelling like freshly poured sunshine,
but every once in a while, when someone puts onions in there and leaves them when they’re not supposed to you might need a little extra help.
This is where you utilize the baking soda and vinegar to freshen and clean.
Start by running hot water through your garbage
disposal for a minute.
Pour about 1/4 cup of baking soda into the drain.
Flip the garbage disposal on for 2 seconds, just
to whirl the baking soda inside, and then leave it
alone for 10-15 minutes.
Follow with 1 cup of vinegar. Watch the bubbles
erupt out of your drain.
Rinse through one last time with very hot
water and run your garbage disposal for 5 seconds.
The baking soda and hot water will deodorize your
drain and the vinegar will help dislodge any stuck
pieces of food in the crevices, removing any potential future smells. Also remember, do not pour
grease down your drain. You can bring your grease
to the Maintenance shop.
Friendly Reminders
Quiet time hours are from 10:00
PM to 7:00 AM daily. Please be
courteous to your neighbors during
the evening hours. If you notice
anyone being a nuisance please
contact the office or Security Forces so that we may take care of the
issue.
Carports and Storage areas
Carports, backyards and garages need to be clear
of clutter and kept clean. Carports are not for storage of boxes and bulky furniture. Please minimize
the clutter in carports.
Pet Reminders
If you are out walking your pet, please make sure to
pick up after them. We strive to make our community inviting for everyone and your help is greatly appreciated.
