Washington Healthcare Week Summer Fun! ... with a little “healthcare” thrown in Washington Healthcare Week is not your typical doctor or nurse camp; it’s a leadership program that gives a crash course in the business of healthcare and life after high school, where teambuilding, networking and life skills are critical to your future success in any profession. At Healthcare Week, explore how your abilities can provide quality healthcare in today’s world. You’ll be part of a small team (“clinic”) of students from around the state. Joined by a mentor “Clinic Advisor” from the healthcare community, your “clinic” will face the challenges of real-life healthcare scenarios including a response plan to a health crisis, life science challenges and hands-on clinical workshops. You’ll strategize solutions to diseases like diabetes, breast cancer or obesity and develop a medical product or service to promote to potential investors. Throughout the week you’ll also take a test run of college life, meet new friends, explore careers, enhance your leadership skills, earn 2 college credit and get the chance to win a scholarship.
