INTRODUCTION A Partnership Proposal 2014 Healthcare IT Philippines The Philippine healthcare industry is entering the digital age. The use of IT systems in hospitals holds great potential to improve operational efficiencies, promote better clinical outcomes and enhance patient engagement. Many hospitals are looking into mobile devices to access information at bedside, barcode technology to minimize errors of data entry, and scanning solutions to improve retrieval of patient records. While many hospitals still struggle to get their hospital information systems working perfectly, some are developing electronic medical records for patient care. While others strive to get their laboratory information systems operational, some are engaging patients online using patient portals. While some hospitals still need to get an archiving system for their imaging modalities, some have gone to the cloud to scale their infrastructure needs. Hospital IT departments are continually challenged to produce more results with less resources. Many projects miss deadlines, go beyond budget, or, even, fail outright. There is a need to gather people together to share insights, give feedback and present solutions to common problems. The 2014 Health IT Philippines (2014 HIT-PH) conference brings together health IT leaders, clinician stakeholders and project implementers to address issues and challenges in hospital IT implementations, share lessons learned from successful projects, and propose strategies to redesign clinical workflows. Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria, Ortigas Avenue Emerald ABC (Conference Area) Jade Room (Exhibit Area) May 22 – 23, 2014 Organized by: In partnership with: Aside from the usual keynote addresses and presentations from specialists, the two-day 2014 HIT-PH conference will also feature three panel discussions. At the Hospital IT Leaders Panel Discussion, hospital leaders, CIOs and IT managers will share their views about the opportunities and challenges of managing strategic IT direction, implementing health IT projects, and optimizing internal processes and resources. The Technology Partners Panel Discussion will have vendors, suppliers and technology partners sharing their perspectives on the healthcare IT industry, the direction of health IT innovation and the positioning of their services and products to help hospitals and the healthcare industry. Finally, during the Clinician IT Panel Discussion, doctors and clinicians will share helpful insights into the minds of project stakeholders in clinical IT projects, provide approaches to managing doctors and give advice to IT people working with clinical staff.
