Das neue Design XB ist das erste Borbet-Rad, das nach der europäischen Richtlinie ECE
(Economic Commission for Europe) 124 geprüft wurde und damit europaweit OHNE
TÜV-Eintragung einsetzbar ist.
Das Rad passt auf alle in der Tabelle aufgeführten Fahrzeuge und wird wie ein SerienRad verwendet, d. h. es wird ohne Zentrierringe verbaut, unter Verwendung der SerienBefestigungsteile und Serien-Reifen. Die Rad-Abmessungen stehen bereits in den
Fahrzeugpapieren. Sollte dort die Verwendung einer Schneekette genehmigt sein, so ist
sie auch bei diesem ECE-Rad verwendbar.
Das Rad ist von außen sichtbar durch das ECE-Zeichen und die ECEGenehmigungsnummer gekennzeichnet. Dies reicht als Identifizierung aus, es müssen
keinerlei Unterlagen mitgeführt werden – auch hier: Genau wie bei einem Serienrad.

Es sind ausschließlich Reifengrößen zu verwenden, die bereits in den KFZ-Papieren
(Bedienungsanleitung etc.) genannt sind. Die Angaben über Tragfähigkeit/Geschwindigkeitsindex sind ebenfalls den Fahrzeugpapieren zu entnehmen.
Natürlich gibt es einen ECE-Prüfbericht vom Kraftfahrtbundesamt mit einer Anlage vom
TÜV, ganz wie bei der herkömmlichen ABE, der liegt aber nicht bei, da keine
Mitführpflicht besteht. Sie haben jedoch die Möglichkeit, diesen auf der Website
www.borbet.de im Konfigurator einzusehen bzw. herunterzuladen.
Von diesem Design gibt es noch zwei weitere ECE-Ausführungen in 17“ (XB 70754 mit
weitgehend gleichem Verwendungsbereich sowie XB 75747 für VW Passat). Weitere
ECE-Räder von Borbet (in 14“ bis 16“) werden im Sommer 2010 vorgestellt.
VORSICHT: Die Räder sind nicht verbaubar auf anderen Fahrzeugen – es kann sonst zu
Befestigungsproblemen kommen, die zum Radverlust führen können. Bei manchen Fahrzeugen
haben die Schrauben eine andere Form, so dass die Räder nicht ordnungsgemäß festgeschraubt
werden können.
Montageanleitung:
1. Überprüfen Sie Ihr Alu-Rad vor der Reifenmontage auf etwaige Beschädigungen.
2. Wir weisen ausdrücklich darauf hin, dass Reklamationen, die durch unsachgemäße
Montage und fehlende oder falsche Pflege entstehen, von uns oder unseren Händlern
nicht anerkannt werden.
3. Vor Montage die Radnabe am Fahrzeug gründlich von Rost und Schmutz befreien.
4. Radbefestigungsteile generell mit einem Drehmomentschüssel anziehen.
5. Nach 200 km müssen grundsätzlich die Radschrauben nachgezogen werden.
6. Die Radschrauben / das Gewinde am Fahrzeug nicht fetten oder ölen.
Auflagen und Hinweise
(Bitte beachten Sie die Bedienungsanleitung Ihres Fahrzeuges!)
1. Die Räder dürfen nur auf den in diesem Beiblatt erwähnten Fahrzeugen mit den
jeweiligen Serien-Reifengrößen verbaut werden. Das Reifenfabrikat kann frei gewählt
werden.
2. Diese ECE-Räder benötigen keinerlei TÜV-Eintragung und es muss auch kein
Prüfbericht mitgeführt werden. Zur Identifizierung reichen das ECE-Zeichen und die
ECE-Genehmigungsnummer aus, die vorne sichtbar im Felgenhorn angebracht sind.
3. Fahrwerk, Brems- und Lenkungsaggregate müssen dem Serienstand entsprechen.
4. Es sind nur schlauchlose Reifen mit Gummi- oder Metallventilen zulässig. Die Ventile
müssen den Normen DIN, E.T.R.T.O. oder TRA entsprechen, sollen möglichst kurz
sein und dürfen nicht über die Radkontur hinausragen.
5. Zur Befestigung der ECE-Räder sind ausschließlich die serienmäßigen Radschrauben
zu verwenden. (Kugelbund-Radschraube M14 x 1,5 x 27mm, Kugel-ø 25,6 mm)
6. Der vom Fahrzeughersteller vorgeschriebene Reifenfülldruck / Mindestluftdruck ist zu
beachten (siehe Bedienungsanleitung).
7. Die Sonderräder dürfen nur an der Innenseite mit Klebe- oder Klammergewichten
ausgewuchtet werden.
8. Sofern in der Bedienungsanleitung des Fahrzeuges Schneeketten erlaubt sind, ist bei
ECE-Rädern in gleichen Abmessungen ebenfalls die Verwendung von Schneeketten
möglich.
ACHTUNG: ECE-Räder dürfen ausschließlich auf Fahrzeugen verbaut werden, bei denen
diese Größe als eine der Serien-Radgrößen in den Kfz-Papieren wie Fahrzeugschein,
Zulassungsbescheinigung, Bedienungsanleitung, EG-Übereinstimmungserklärung bzw.
COC-Papiere (COC = Certificate of Conformity) eingetragen ist. Sind gem. den o. g.
Papieren ausschließlich größere und/oder breitere Serienräder verbaut, so ist keine
kleinere Radgröße zulässig!

The new XB design is the first Borbet wheel which has been tested in accordance with
the European ECE (Economic Commission for Europe) 124 so that it can be used
throughout Europe WITHOUT German Technical Inspection Agency (TÜV) registration.
The wheel is suitable for all of the vehicles in the table below and is used in the same
way as a serial wheel, i.e. using the serial bolts and tyres; a centre ring is not required.
The wheel dimensions are stated already in the vehicle documents. Should these
documents also state the approval for the use of snow chains, then these can also be
mounted on this ECE wheel.
The wheel is visibly labelled on the outside with the ECE symbol and the ECE approval
number. This is sufficient as identification, no extra documents need to be in the vehicle
– it is exactly the same as if a serial wheel is being used.

There are only tyre sizes to apply which are stated in the vehicle documents (instruction
manual, etc). Specifications so as max. wheel load / speed-index also have to be
checked with the vehicle documents.
An ECE test report from the Kraftfahrtbundesamt (Federal Motor Transport Authority)
with a TÜV attachment exists as well as the conventional General Certificate of
Roadworthiness (ABE). However, this is not enclosed since there is not a duty to take
it with you. You can however see it in the configurator at the website www.borbet.de or
download it from the site.
There are an additional two ECE versions of this design in 17“ (XB 70754 with more or
less the same applications as well as the XB 75747 for the VW Passat). Additional ECE
wheels (in sizes 14 to 16“) will be presented by Borbet in summer 2010.
CAUTION: The wheels cannot be mounted on other vehicles as this could cause fixing
difficulties which could result in the loss of the wheel. (Some vehicles have bolts with a
different shape so that the wheels cannot be fixed securely).
Mounting instructions:
1. Inspect your aluminium wheel for signs of damage BEFORE mounting the tyre.
2. We expressly point out that no complaints arising from an incorrect mounting and a
lack of or incorrect care will neither be accepted by our dealers, nor by us.
3. Thoroughly remove corrosion and soiling from the wheel hub before mounting.
4. Wheel bolts should generally be tightened using a torque wrench.
5. The wheel bolts always have to be retightened after 200 Km.
6. Do not grease or oil the wheel bolts / vehicle thread.
Requirements and instructions (please refer to your vehicle manual!)
1. The wheels are only to be mounted on the vehicles referred to in these instructions
and with serial tyre sizes. The tyre manufacturer can be chosen according to choice.
2. These ECE wheels do not require any TÜV entries in the documents whatsoever and
you do not have to have a test report with you. The ECE symbol and the ECE
approval number which are visible at the front in the rim flange.
3. The chassis, brake and steering assemblies are to be as standard.
4. Only tubeless tyres with rubber or metal valves are permissible. The valves are to
meet the standards DIN, E.T.R.T.O. or TRA, are to be as short as possible and
should not extend over the wheel contour.
5. The ECE wheels are to be exclusively mounted using the standard wheel bolts. (M14 x
1.5 x 27mm spherical wheel bolts, sphere diameter 25.6mm)
6. The tyre pressure / minimum air pressure stipulated by the vehicle manufacturer
(refer to the vehicle manual).
7. The wheels are only to be balanced on the inside with adhesive coated or clamp
weights.
8. If the vehicle manual should state that the use of snow chains is permitted, then
these can also be mounted on ECE wheels which have the same dimensions.
CAUTION: ECE wheels are only to be mounted on vehicles if the size of this wheel is
entered in the motor vehicle documents such as the vehicle registration document, the
registration certificate, vehicle manual, EC Declaration of Compliance or COC documents
(COC = Certificate of Conformity). Should the above documents stipulate the exclusive
mounting of larger and/or wider standard wheels, then a smaller wheel size is not
permitted!
