This class is now f ully booked. vvv We are delighted to have JANET ROGERS, AWS teach a 4 day workshop, Tues.-Fri., Feb. 10th thru 13th, 2015. This class will be a combination of florals and portraits. Janet loves the fluid nature of watercolor. To her, “the interaction of artist with the medium is like a dance - full of motion, feeling and expression. Discovering new color & composition as the painting develops is her joy. As a teacher, her goal is to enable students to find their connections with watercolor in new and expressive ways”. We don’t yet have the final price for Janet Roger’s workshop, but expect it to be fairly priced for a 4 full days workshop. Janet explained that the first day or two will be learning her methods for painting floral arrangements. Students will then use the techniques they learned for flowers, to paint portraits. She also told us the students should not be afraid of painting portraits. Using her methods, all should get great results. Artist of the M onth….Gustave W ander Gustave Wander lived in Teaneck New Jersey In the year 2000 moved to Delray Beach, Florida. He has studied watercolor paintings at the Art Students League in New York, The School of Visual Arts, and has been a member of the Salmugundi Club in New York. He also studied with Edger Whitney, Robert Wood and Ferdinand Petrie, all highly regarded watercolor painters. Over the years he has participated in many outdoor art shows around the country such as:New York's Greenwich Village, Chicago's Gold Coast, Michigan's Ann Arbor and Florida's Coconut Grove show. He has been fortunate to have received approximately 50 awards for his work during his 50 years of painting. Gustave received Best in Show and 1st in watercolor at the Washington Square outdoor art exhibition on three occasions. Because of this distinction he was given the honor "hors de concours”. He has conducted classes, judged art exhibitions and has demonstrated his watercolor techniques at art societies in New York, New Jersey and Florida. He is presently teaching at The Old School Square in Delray and the JCC in Boca Raton. This space is available for a feature article, ”Artist of the Month”.
