MANGUM FAMILY HISTORY The following 30 is the content of a letter written by Samuel J. Adair to hi~ daughter, Catherine on October 19, 1$$4. Nutrioso, Gemima Adair Rugg This was written while he lived in Arizona. Dear Daughter: I received your kind and welcome letter a few days ago, and can say I was glad to hear from yqu again. I am well and hope you are the same. I would like to see you and Fred and the children, but I don't know when I will again. But I will sometime, if not in this life, I will in the next. I often think of you. George and Newton both live in this place, and I live with one a while and then the other, and would be glad if I was there where I could stay with you part of the time. Tell me in your next letter how many children you have and what their names are. You always have my prayers, and don't forget Mormonism is right, for I know it to be true. Write often and tell Fred to write. I remain as ever your affectionate father. Samuel Adair Children of Gemima Mangum and Samuel Jefferson Adair: 1.
