Laundry Loads
A lot of you will have noticed that our
Laundry system appears to be
different! Surprise! All those 20 cent
coins you have been saving are now
redundant and the use of $1 and $2
coins are in fashion.
Load Costs are now:
Hands up who thought it would
never get here? ME!
$3 for a washing load &
$2 for a drying loads
As promised, our second newsletter is here – and may I say
earlier than first assumed. Every body seems to be battening
down the hatches in preparation for exams (sigh) and all
appears to be quiet on the home front – so, I thought I might
stir things up a little with some news that will blow you all out
of the water. Have I got your attention? Good! Read
ahead…and don’t forget to look out for our monthly prize!
That’s a saving of almost $2 for every
load you do! That’s heaps more
money into your piggy bank!

SPRING 2012
The Notice Board
As the semester wears on a few minor things
have popped up that need to be remembered –
just think of it as a ‘friendly reminder’.
Staying or Going?
Letters and Notices were sent out this week to find out
which of you lovely tenants are extending your leases
or are saying goodbye to Varsity. Please let us know as
soon as possible as we are filling up at rapid speed for
next semester. Those of you who have returned your
forms, please make sure you come in and book your
inspections. These inspection times are filling up fast!
Glass in the Pool Area
Last time we had glass smash in the pool, it was closed
for 2 days! Please guys, keep the glass out! Not only
does it cost you a fortune ($50 fine for you or your
guest) but it also costs management $200!
Guests
We are still getting some surprised faces when we
charge people $10 for an overnight guests. Remember:
you must sign your guests in AND out otherwise you’ll
either be breached (if security finds you with un-signed
guests) or you’ll be charged for not signing them out
(because to us, it looks like they had a sleep over). If
security aren’t in the office when you go to sign them
out, just dial ‘4’ on your phone and let security know
your guests are going home.
Your Carbon Footprint
Global warming is being blasted at you left, right and
center and we are all aware that it’s happening, so let’s do
something about it. Make sure when you leave your unit,
your lights are off and so is your fan (open a window
for airflow). If when you take your rubbish out to the bin
and its full – out it in another bin! PEACE MAN!

SPRING 2012
Ok – mundane stuff is out of the way! Wanna
know the good news?
Recreation Hall Make Over!
Surf Trip?
As most of you may be aware by now – we
have decided to do a much-needed make over
on our dull and listless recreation hall! While
the colour scheme and new improved lighting
will be decided by yours truly, we are letting
you guys decide what you want to see in there!
Jump onto www.varsityapartments.com.au and
complete our rec hall survey! We want your
feedback! Obviously we have a budget and cant
go too extreme – but we can at least jazz it up a
bit and make it a bit more entertaining! So get
online and start voting!
Who’s in? We are thinking, seeing as we missed
out on the National Identity Party – we would
plan a little trip to the beach as an end of
semester celebration. We were thinking surfing
lessons (for those Internationals who haven’t
tried it yet), a game of touch footy on the beach
and a sausage sizzle. That way, even if it rains,
we are already in the water! We won’t plan or
book anything until we know who’s in so let us
know either by facebook (just add Varsity
Apartments), emailing
[email protected] or in person!

exam preparations, we know this is a very stressful time
for students and we hope that this surf trip will be a
good way to blow of some steam once exams are over.
