This tournament is sanctioned by the USBC-Collegiate Program and will be in compliance with their rules and regulations of tournament conduct. Team Participation: All schools must designate their Varsity team in each division prior to competition. Only Varsity teams will be eligible for TRS points. Both Varsity and JV will receive scholarship funds. Due to facility considerations, the maximum number of participating teams is limited to forty-eight (48) and will be determined on a “first come, first served” basis determined by postmark date. It is anticipated that this tournament will sell out quickly. E-mail entries will be accepted, but not confirmed until receipt of payment. Payments must be mailed to address shown. Confirmation of receipt of entries will be emailed to Head Coach shown on entry form. Divisions: There are two (2) divisions in this tournament. The men's division and the women's division. Teams consisting of mixed gender will compete in the men's division. Team Roster: A team must have a minimum of five (5) eligible bowlers and a maximum of eight (8) eligible bowlers. Teams bowling with less than five (5) players will receive zero (0) pins for each missing bowler per missed frame. Substitutions: A team may substitute no more than three (3) bowlers in any Baker game. Once removed, a player may not return to the line-up until the start of the next Baker game. Entry Fee: The entry fee is $175.00 per team. Breakdown: Lineage: $125.00. Awards and Expenses: $50.00. Entry Deadline: January 1, 2015 to guarantee entry for teams. Initial tournament entries close at 12:00 pm January 1, 2015, unless the event is full prior to that time. A full field will consist of 48 teams. Any entries received after this deadline will incur a penalty of $25.00, therefore the entry fee will increase to $200.00 per team. Entry Refunds: The entry fee will be refunded in full if a team withdraws from the tournament prior to January 24, 2015. If withdrawn after this date, $50.00 of the entry fee will be retained by the Bowling Club at Ohio State. All extenuating circumstances will be determined at the discretion of the Tournament Director. Attire: Each bowler must wear uniforms that comply with USBC Collegiate Rule 503Collegiate. Food & Drink: Both bowling centers have a NO carry in food and drink policy. We ask that all team members, coaches, parents and spectators be respectful of this policy. Tournament Format There will be two (2) separate divisions: men’s and women’s. Five (5) participating bowlers per team. Team roster will be eight (8) maximum. The format is the same for both divisions. Qualifying Round: All teams will bowl 36 total Baker games; 24 on Saturday and 12 on Sunday. The first two (2) games will be bowled on the starting lane and then teams will bowl on the other lane of the same pair for the second two (2) games. After four (4) games are completed, teams on odd numbered lanes will skip one pair to the left, and even numbered teams will skip one pair to the right. Championship Round: The top eight (8) Varsity teams and the top four (4) JV teams from the Qualifying Round in each division will be seeded in a single elimination, best of five (5) Baker game match play format. If there is a tie for any qualifying spot, the tiebreaker will be the higher Baker game followed by the higher Baker set. Higher ranked team chooses their starting lane. During matchplay, individual Baker game ties will result in a split point. If teams are tied each with 2.5 points after 5 Baker games, there will be a one game roll off to determine the winner. Teams will be seeded based on scores from the Qualifying Round. Seeding will be as follows: Varsity : #1 seed vs. #8 seed, #2 seed vs. #7 seed, #3 seed vs. #6 seed, #4 seed vs. #5 seed. JV : #1 seed vs. #4 seed, #2 seed vs. #3 seed.
