In the recent elections in Canada, which were held on October 19, the Liberal Party obtained the
majority of the votes and formed the new government with Justin Trudeau as Prime Minister of
Canada. The new Prime Minister promises real change. Which priorities does the new
government of this G7-Nation and NATO-founding member have in its domestic and foreign
policy? What kind of importance does this have for the relations between Canada and Germany?
Her Excellency Marie Gervais-Vidricaire, Ambassador of Canada in
Germany since 2013, will provide a first insight into the program and the
priorities of the new Canadian government in a keynote lecture with focus
on topic-areas that are of great interest for Germany and the German
people.
After Ambassador Gervais-Vidricaire’s presentation, which will be held in
German, Mr. Michael Heussen from WDR will have a moderated talk with
her followed by a Q&A with the audience.
Finally, the Ambassador will sign the guestbook of the City of Cologne,
followed by a get-together.
