To je svet bogatih gozdov, skritih jezer, divjih sotesk in slapov, barij, čudovitih planj in razglednih vrhov. Ob Kočevskem gozdu se Pohorje lahko pohvali z največjim sklenjenim gozdom pri nas, zato je celotno območje Pohorja predlagano za regijski park. Omeniti velja, da bi samo Pohorje s svojimi 458 km2 površine s kisikom lahko oskrbelo celo Slovenijo. Pohorje tvori celoto skupaj s Strojno in Kozjakom in je geološko del vzhodnih (centralnih) Alp, kjer prevladujejo metamorfne kamnine, kot so blestnik, gnajs in filit. Osrednji del Pohorja tvorijo magmatske kamnine, v glavnem granodiorit, tudi dacit in čizlakit. Za razliko od prepustnega apnenca so magmatske kamnine za vodo manj prepustne, kar je eden glavnih pogojev za nastanek barij – zanimivega ekosistema, ki daje Pohorju poseben pečat. Tukaj najdemo najvzhodnejša slovenska visoka barja, kot so Lovrenška jezera ter Črno in Ribniško jezero. Ne glede na številne planinske poti, koče, smučišča in hotele je Pohorje ohranilo svojo lepoto in je nekakšen zgled sožitja človeka in narave. Turistični razvoj ni šel prek meja, tako da bodo pohorski gozdovi očarali vsakogar, ki si je pripravljen vzeti nekaj dragocenih uric in se umakniti v ta vedno zeleni svet. Pred več kot desetimi leti je izšla moja prva fotomonografija o Pohorju z naslovom »Vedno zeleno Pohorje«. Požela je veliko navdušenje in bila kar hitro razprodana. Od tedaj, pa vse do danes, ko je pred vami nova knjiga, sedaj že tretja, monografija, ki jo je izdala Založba Roman, je Pohorje zame še vedno vir miru in navdiha, fotografskega in tudi tistega osebnega, ko se umaknem v njegove gozdove, da najdem mir. Nedvomno je največje bogastvo Pohorja čudovita narava in vse več ljudi si želi oddiha v miru in tišini narave. Še vedno me vsako jutro pogled proti Pohorju vabi, da odidem v njegove gozdove. Žal večkrat ostanem prekratko in se takoj po fotografiranju vrnem nazaj v dolino. In vedno mi je žal, zakaj ne ostanem dlje. Introduction Pohorje is a green forest oasis on the eastern edge of the Alps. It is bounded by the Drava river in the north, the Slovenj Gradec basin, Vitanje valley and Dravinja vineyards in the south, and the Drava plain in the east. It abounds in forests, hidden lakes, wild gorges and waterfalls, marshes, wonderful flat countries and peaks with beautiful views. It represents the largest continuous forest in Slovenia next to the Kočevje region which is why efforts have been made to ensure it the status of a regional park. It should be mentioned that Pohorje alone, with its surface of 458 km2 could supply the entire Slovenia with oxygen. Together with Strojna and Kozjak, Pohorje forms a geologic whole and is a part of the Eastern (Central) Alps. The prevalent metamorphic rocks there are schist, gneiss and phyllite. The central part of Pohorje consists of magma rocks, mostly granodiorite, dacit and gabbro. Compared to the limestone of the karst region, magma minerals are less permeable and therefore prompt the appearance of swamplands - an interesting eco-system, very characteristic of Pohorje. Slovenian eastern-most swamps can be found here, such as the Lovrenc lakes, the Črno jezero lake and the Ribniško jezero lake. More and more people come to relax in the peace and quiet of the beautiful nature of Pohorje. Regardless of numerous mountain trails, mountain lodges, ski slopes and hotels, Pohorje has preserved its natural beauty and is an example of harmonious coexistence of man and nature. Effects of tourism development have not gone too far and we can only hope it stays this way. More than ten years ago, my first photomonography on Pohorje, Vedno zeleno Pohorje, was published. Due to the enthusiasm of the public, it was quickly sold out. This is the third edition of the book, published by the Založba Roman publishing house, and Pohorje remains a source of peace and inspiration for my photographs as well as personal inspiration for inner retreat. Beautiful nature is without the doubt the biggest wealth of Pohorje and there are more and more people seeking its peace and quiet. It still invites me to its forests every morning. Unfortunatelly, my visits are always too short and I return to the valley immediately after taking the photos, always feeling sorry for not staying longer. Vorwort Das Pohorje-Gebirge ist eine grüne Oase des geschlossenen Waldes am östlichen Rand der Alpenwelt, eingebettet zwischen der Drau und dem Becken von Slovenj Gradec im Norden; Vitanjsko podolje und Weinberge von Vitanje im Süden und Drauebene im Osten. Das ist eine Welt reicher Wälder, versteckter Seen, wilder Schluchten und Wasserfälle, Moore, wunderbarer Ebenen und Aussichtsgipfel. Neben dem Wald von Kočevsko ist das Pohorje-Gebirge bekannt für den größten geschlossenen Wald in Slowenien, deswegen wurde das gesamte Gebiet für Regionalpark vorgeschlagen. Erwähnenswert ist es auch, dass nur das Pohorje-Gebirge allein das gesamte Slowenien mit Sauerstoff versorgen könnte. Zusammen mit den Gebirgszügen Strojna und Kozjak bildet es eine geologische Einheit und ist ein Teil der östlichen (zentralen) Alpen, wo die metamorphen Gesteine, wie Glimmerschiefer, Gneis und Phyllit überwiegen. Den zentralen Teil vom Pohorje-Gebirge bilden Magmagesteine, weitgehend Granodiorit, aber auch Dazit und eine Art von Gabbro čizlakit, genannt nach dem Steinbruch Cezlak. Im Unterschied zum durchlässigen Kalkstein sind magmatische Gesteine weniger wasserdurchlässig, was einen der entscheidenden Gründe für die Entstehung von Mooren – ein interessantes Ökosystem - darstellt, was das Pohorje-Gebirge prägt. Hier findet man die östlichsten slowenischen Moore wie Seen von Lovrenc sowie die Seen Črno jezero und Ribniško jezero. Ungeachtet der zahlreichen Höhenwege, Berghütten, Skipisten und Hotels bewahrte das Pohorje-Gebirge seine Schönheit und ist ein Vorbild für eine Symbiose von Mensch und Natur. Die Entwicklung des Tourismus überschritt keine Grenzen, so dass die Wälder vom Pohorje-Gebirge jeden verzaubern werden, der bereit ist, sich einige Stunden zu nehmen und sich in die immer grüne Welt zurückzuziehen. Vor mehr als 10 Jahren wurde meine erste Fotomonografie über das Pohorje-Gebirge mit dem Titel Vedno zeleno Pohorje herausgegeben. Sie erntete viel Begeisterung bei den Lesern und war schnell ausverkauft. Von damals bis heute, als vor Ihnen das neue Buch liegt, jetzt schon die dritte Monografie, die der Verlag Roman veröffentlichte, ist das Pohorje-Gebirge für mich noch immer ein Ort der Ruhe und Inspiration sowohl für Fotografieren als auch für mich persönlich, wenn ich mich in seine Wälder zurückziehe, um Ruhe zu finden. Der größte Reichtum des PohorjeGebirges ist die wunderbare Natur und immer mehr Menschen wünschen sich Erholung in Ruhe und Stille der Natur. Jeden Morgen lockt mich der Blick auf das Pohorje-Gebirge an, um in seine Wälder zu gehen. Leider verweile ich oft zu kurz und kehre sofort nach dem Fotografieren ins Tal zurück. Pohorje v okolici Maribora je zaznamovano s turizmom in športom. Skoraj ni Mariborčana, ki še ne bi smučal na Pohorju ali šel peš do znane koče Luka. Prav tako se z vseh koncev mesta odpira čudovit pogled na gozdove in smučišča, kar daje mestu poseben čar. Maribor lies at the border between the Alpine world and the pre – Alpine hills and plains. At the city, both Pohorje and the Drava river change their character – the river leaves its gorges behind and winds gently across the plain of Ptuj (Ptujsko polje). The part of Pohorje surrounding the city of Maribor is marked with tourism and sports. Mariborians who have never skied there or visited the Luka mountain lodge are rare. A magnificent view of the forests and the ski slopes that opens from various parts of the city gives the inseparable connection of the hills and the city a special charm. Pot je bila ustanovljena leta 1953 in se začne na Mariborskem Pohorju, nato vodi prek KamniškoSavinjskih Alp do Karavank, nato v Mojstrano in prek Julijcev in bohinjskih gora do Idrije, za konec pa še prek Krasa do morja. Mariborsko Pohorje ima dva dela. Tik nad Mariborom je bolj turistično in športno, v smeri Ruš pa prevlada narava s svojo močjo. The Slovenian Mountain Trail leading from Maribor to Ankaran starts in the city. The Trail was drafted in 1953 and leads across Pohorje to the Kamnik - Savinja Alps, all the way to Karavanke, then to Mojstrana, across the Julian Alps and the Bohinj mountains to Idrija, and finally across the Karst to the sea. The Maribor Pohorje comprises two parts. The part above Maribor is marked with tourism and sports, whereas the part above Ruše is still dominated by nature and its power.
