Things to remember: You need a だ with a positive なadj or nouns. If it ends in い（いadj (pos), くない、じゃない）, you don’t need a だ (watch なadjs like ゆうめい) これはぺんじゃないだと思います と思います goes with what YOU are thinking, we will talk about other people’s thoughts later on. と言っていました is for what somebody else already said. NOT for what they are CURRENTLY saying (conjugated in the past) ボナス・ステージ！ What is a quick effective way to agree with somebody? そうです。 How would you say, “yes, that is what I think.” はい、そう思います。 (no だ) Verbのがすきです はじめまして。ビンです。スポーツをするのがすきです。 または、うんてんをするのがじょうずです。 りょうりをするのがきらいです。そうじをするのがへたです。 よろしくおねがいします。 Verbのがすきです What kind of verb goes before the の? It is short form positive. How do you make a negative form? Change the ending from すき to a negative adjective, like きらい テニスをしないのがすきです。 テニスをするのがきらいです。 Try to translate A: Would you like to eat some cake? B: Yes, I love eating cake! A:ケーキを食べませんか？ B. はい、ケーキをたべるのが だいすきです！ B: Um… I’m pretty bad at cleaning… A: わたしへやをそうじしませ んか B: あっ、そうじをするのがへ たですが、… A: What does that even mean! A:どういういみですか！ A: Could clean my room (for me)?
