March 8, 2016 6:30pm ASIJ Theater ASIJ Proudly Presents our 39th Annual Kyogen Performance 第ア 39 メ 回リ 狂カ 言ン 発ス 表ク 会 ル の 中 高 生 に よ る 2016年､3月8日 午後6時30分開演 ASIJシアターにて Kyogen Artwork by Riku Mito, Grade 7. 美藤 里玖、 ７年生（中一）作 ASIJは毎年、人間国宝でいらっしゃる山本東次 郎先生を頭首とする大蔵流の先生方のご指導 の下、 高校生、中学生による狂言を行っており ます。 今年はその第３９回目にあたり、皆様よく ご存知の『附子』 と 『二人袴』 を披露します。全て 日本語で行われますが英語の字幕が出ます。 演目の最後にご指導いただいている山本泰太郎 先生、 山本則孝先生と特別出演の山本凜太郎 先生による 『茶壺』 をご覧頂きます。 このような 珍しい日本伝統文化を鑑賞できる機会をどうぞ お見逃しなくお楽しみ下さい。 Photo by Sarah Sutter Every year ASIJ is fortunate to have members of the nationally recognized Yamamoto family of professional Kyogen actors, of the Okura School, teach a group of our high school and middle school students this traditional art of comedy. The students will perform two well-known plays. Following that, our teachers Yasutaro Yamamoto & Noritaka Yamamoto, along with Rintaro Yamamoto, will graciously perform the play Chatsubo. Don’t miss this unique and entertaining cultural experience at ASIJ! All plays will be performed in Japanese, with English subtitles. ASIJ Proudly Presents our 39th Annual Kyogen Performance 附子 (高校生) 主人が外出の際に、太郎冠者と次郎冠者 に留守番を頼み、また「附子」という毒 の入った壷には気をつけるようにとい う。でもその壺のその中身が実は〜？太 郎冠者と次郎冠者はつい手が出てしま い、主人への言い訳を考えなければなり ません。 Busu: The Poison (performed by HS students) Two servants are told to guard a terrible poison while their master is away. Suspicious of the master’s strange words, the two peek at the “poison” which turns out to be something else entirely. 第ア 39 メ 回リ 狂カ 言ン 発ス 表ク 会 ル の 中 高 生 に よ る Artwork by Yumi Mizobuchi, Grade 5. 溝渕 由美、 ５年生 作 二人袴 (中高生) ある小心者の婿が舅を初めて訪ねるの に、自分の父親にお供の物のふりをして 同行してもらうのだが、見つかってしま う。舅は突然父親に会うことを望み、婿 と父親は袴が一具しかないことを隠そう と悪戦苦闘する。 Futari Bakama: Two Gentlemen, One Hakama* (performed by HS and MS students) A father and son attend an important ceremony... but only one of them is dressed for such a formal occasion. Embarrassed, they must find a way to share their one pair of hakama while both attending. 茶壺 (山本泰太郎、山本則孝、山本凜太郎) 茶を買い求めた男が、帰り道ですっかり 酔っ払ってしまうと、運悪くすっぱにで あい、茶を盗まれそうになる。男は通り 掛かりの目代に訴えるのだが、なかなか 判断してもらえず、最後には〜 Chatsubo: The Tea Jar (performed by Yasutaro Yamamoto, Noritaka Yamamoto, & Rintaro Yamamoto) A man entrusted with his master’s prized tea purchases encounters a wily swindler and turns to a local magistrate for help, but the swindler proves unexpectedly tenacious. *hakama is a garment shaped like wide pants, worn over kimono on formal occasions.
