designed and published by myself. Each issue
unites two contrasts in an innovative layout.
The pages are partly flipped horizontally which
creates the core of the mag‘s philosophy:

‚A highlight for Hamburg‘s party people‘, Die
Welt (daily newspaper) once named this unique
pop-up event. Every month Crystal Overnight
captures skyscrapers, rooftops, old factories,
restaurants or universities and turns them into
party locations. The nights out are as creative,
arty and posh as its brand identity.

Posters, I love posters. All of these here were
made for different purposes: ‚Make Hummus Not
War‘ is a free series placed in the urban public.
It contains a simple recipe for hummus and calls
out to focus on peace and peas. For a local
record store I created some typographic rap
quotes, my former maths teacher asked me to
promote his geometry workshop and for my own
interest I visualised personal disorders.

A tiny traditional launderette in a suburb of
Hamburg needed a complete new redesign.
Beginning with the name (Northern German for
washhouse) I created a clear brand identity
based on simple elements, icons and colors.
The result is a stringent look that is both pure
and playful. A mint and dark grey symbolise the
freshness of the product and reliability of the
family business.

Vodafone Institut
The Vodafone Institute for Society and
Communications explores the potential of mobile
and digital technologies to improve political,
social and economic participation and to give
better access to education. I programmed a
simple grid-based Wordpress template for
a platform where Vodafone can publish and
communicate new studies. The large header
sliders and videos emotionalise the layout. An
embedded twitter feed allows the user to see the
institute‘s current tweets. Of course, the site is
responsive and follows the Vodafone CI guide.

A board game for the Fresh Prince Of Bel
Air. How cool is that? All the players are in
Will Smith‘s situation whose life got flippedturned upside down. Who first masters all the
challenges of the Banks family wins the game.
It is a reminiscence for a legendary series, cast
and time. And a tribute to graphic design of the
90‘s. The packaging is sized like a vinyl case and
includes a board game and the series on Blu-ray.

Awakening of
GEFO
The company for oil transports called GEFO,
celebrates its 55th birthday this year. A consistent
CI or a brand essence never existed. So it is even
more surprising that the company is one of the
German leaders in the cargo shipping industry.
Due to straight management, high safety
standards and quality assurance the business
was always scandal free. To communicate this
GEFO is now reborn with a complete new look
and campaign. Modern graphic and historical
pictures unite the past with the present.

Palais Alsterufer
Richard Meier, one of the world‘s best architects
has once built a house at the most beautiful
location in Hamburg. Now, 15 years after its
finishing Palais Alsterufer is being renovated
and gets a new branding. Meier‘s philosophy of
architecture is the function and beauty of light.
He is known and priced for his white objects all
over the world. The new booklet and website
show the pureness of the architecture with large
type and a straight grid. A fresh blue cites the
Alster Lake where the house is located.
