Students will improve fluency and confidence in addition to vocabulary and grammar. Pair work and small group activities will allow students to use English actively in class. The text book AMERICAN ENGLISH FILE 1 will be used in class. In addition to the text and materials related to the text, the instructor will create and adapt materials to meet the students’ needs. 【Textbook】 “American English Files Level 1: Student Book.” 2nd ed. Press, 2013 ISBN: 978-0-19-477615-8 講座名ｸﾗｽ授業時間 3,048 円＋税. 定員講座内容英検準２級程度の英語力を保持している方で、日常会話に支 (1) 9：00～10：30 20 名障の無い方（簡単な電話の応対ができる、簡単な事柄なら通訳ができる、等）を対象とします。初級よりも、一歩踏み込んだ (2) 10：40～12：10 20 名実用英会話を学びます。（注）（1）クラスと（2）クラスの授業内容は同じです。【担当講師からのコメント】（Elizabeth Lammons） Intermediate 〔中級〕 In this class, students will be able to expand their listening and speaking fluency through exposure to a variety of listening programs, such as a culinary show, a soap opera, a game show, a late night talk show and a family drama. Students will be able to choose useful language from these shows that they can use in their English speaking and then practice using this language with their peers. In order to note improvements in speaking, students should bring an ic recorder/cell phone/smart phone to class to record their speaking which will allow them to monitor their speaking progress over the course of the 15 week semester. 【Textbook】 Materials will be provided by the instructor. 3 講座名ｸﾗｽ授業時間定員 (1) 9：00～10：30 20 名 (2) 10：40～12：10 20 名講座内容英検 2 級～準１級・TOEIC650 点前後・TOEFL500 点程度の語学力を要する方を対象とします。様々なトピックを題材にディスカッションを中心とした少人数制講座です。（注）（1）クラスと（2）クラスの授業内容は同じです。【担当講師からのコメント】（Charlotte Lin） Building from the 2014 curriculum, students of the 2015 advanced class will be able to improve their Advanced 〔上級〕 English ability by exploring and learning about innovative topics in current research and global affairs, various cultural topics and language used in every day speaking through the authentic materials used in class. A set of popular topics, as voted by students themselves, will set the direction of the discussions and activities every week. The main materials are provided by the instructor. Students will also get the opportunity to engage in deep debate/conversation through problem-solving tasks based in real-life contexts. While the class primarily focuses on promoting lively interaction through speaking, activities will also address vocabulary knowledge, grammar control, listening and speaking fluency, and pronunciation.
