日本人ジャーナリストらの拘束事件について２０１５年１月２１日日本記者クラブは、過激派組織「イスラム国」がジャーナリストを含む２人の日本人を人質にして、身代金を支払わなければ殺害すると日本政府に要求していることに対し、強く抗議するとともに、人質の無事、かつ即時の解放を求める。人命を盾にとり金銭を要求する卑劣な行為は、許されない。日本記者クラブは、ジャーナリズムと「報道の自由」の発展に努めている。今回の事件は、民主主義の根幹である「報道の自由」を暴力で脅かし、自由な取材活動を阻むものである。公益社団法人日本記者クラブ理事長伊藤芳明 January 21, 2015 Statement On the kidnapping of a Japanese reporter and a civilian Japan National Press Club strongly protests against the Islamic State Extremist Group’s threat to kill two Japanese citizens, one of them, a reporter taken as hostage while on work, unless the ransom is paid by the Japanese government. We call for their unharmed and immediate release. We would not tolerate heinous acts for demanding the ransom by using human lives as a shield. Our Club strives for maintaining the integrity of journalism and the principle of the freedom of the press.
