ITRA会員の皆様、および理事会メンバーの皆様
この度、国際トレイルランニング協会／International Trail Running Association
（ITRA）の個人枠での日本代表（Representants Nationaux）に立候補した岩佐幸一
と申します。
トレイルランニングの人気と注目度が近年急速に高まっているのは、日本においても
世界各国と同様です。しかし、そのようなトレイルランニングというスポーツを一層
成長させていくためにITRAが設立され、今後大きな役割を果たしていくことは、ま
だあまり日本では知られておりません。
私はITRAと日本のトレイルランニングの仲介役として、ITRAの活動を日本のトレイ
ルランニング・コミュニティに広く伝えるとともに、日本におけるトレイルランニン
グに関する事情をITRAを通じて世界のトレイルランニング・コミュニティと共有し
たいと考えます。とりわけ、日本におけるITRAの大会主催者会員の拡大は日本代表
として重要な役割と考えます。
私自身は現在、トレイルランニングの情報サイト、DogsorCaravan.comの運営を通
じて、日本国内、海外のトレイルランニングに関するニュースやレポートを日々伝え
ています。こうした活動を通じて、有力アスリート、一般のランナー、大会主催者、
メーカーなどの事業者の皆さんと広範なネットワークを有しています。またランナー
としても日本国内の様々なトレイルランニングレースに出場した経験を持つ他、
UTMB、ウェスタン・ステイツなど欧米のレースを完走した経験を持ちます。

日本においても、世界においても、トレイルランニングが競技として成長していく上
でも、市民スポーツとしてその魅力を社会に認知されていく上でも、現在は重要な時
期です。この時期に、ITRAの個人枠の日本代表としてコミュニティに貢献する機会を
いただけますようお願い申しあげます。

Dear all members of ITRA and members of its steering committee,
I, Koichi Iwasa, hereby run for runner's national ITRA representative for
Japan.
Like many countries in the world, here in Japan, our trail running is growing
in both number of trail runners and popularity in society. I understand ITRA
is established to develop our sport by taking opportunity around us and
solving issues. But on the other hand, I should say we do not know ITRA
very well yet in Japan.
My role as ITRA representative is going to be a mediation between ITRA
and trail running community in Japan. I would like to promote and share
ITRA's mission, activity, and issues. For ITRA, I would bring news, idea, and
concern from Japan and contribute to other members in the world. I
should say that it is my mission with priority to have more ITRA members of
race organizers in Japan.
Let me introduce myself briefly. I am working for my own trail running news
portal in Japan, DogsorCaravan.com as editor. It covers both national and
worldwide news and some editorial on trail running. Through such
activities as journalist, I have developed broad network with elite and nonelite athletes, race organizers, and sporting brands. As a trail runner, I have
finished variety of trail running races (especially from 2009 to 2012) in
Japan, and some major 100 mile events, like UTMB an Western States.
Today, we are standing on the tipping point for our sports. Whether trail
running can grow up to major sports and be recognized as attractive
activity by all generations and people. I am quite excited to show you all
my interest to represent Japan, and deeply appreciate your vote for me.
