Crisman Hollow Area Trails NOTE: Crisman Hollow Road is closed to vehicles from Feb. 1 to the Friday before Youth Spring Turkey Season in April. The trails remain open year round. Scothorn Gap Trail to Gap Creek Trail Loop. Park off FDR 274, Crisman Hollow Road, at or near Scothorn Gap Parking area. Follow trail east to Gap Creek trail. A short side trip is available to Duncan Knob. (You will need to tie your horse before proceeding up this portion of trail). To complete loop, return to parking area by returning on Crisman Hollow Road. Horses should avoid the Peach Orchard section of the Massanutten Trail. Parking: Length: Map(s): Trail Difficulty: Trail Surface: Trail Use Allowed: Gap Creek Trail to Massanutten Trail Loop. Park off FDR 274, Crisman Hollow Road, at or near Gap Creek Parking area. Follow trail across FDR 274 to the Jaw Bone Gap Trail. This trail intersects with Massanutten Trail. Follow this trail to Scothorn Gap Trail (yellow blazed). This trail will bring you back to your parking area by way of Gap Creek Trail. A short side trip is available to Duncan Knob. (You will need to tie your horse before proceeding up this portion of trail). Some loops will involve traveling on Crisman Hollow Road.
