CCS Italia Onlus is present in Africa (Mozambique, Zambia), and in Asia (Nepal, Cambodia). Children wellbeing, children’s learning and gender equality among children are the goals the Association is pursuing in these countries. Since 2004 CCS Italia Onlus is working in the education sector in Kathmandu, Nepal, improving school infrastructures, the quality of teaching-learning processes and the inclusion of vulnerable children within the education process. CCS Italia Onlus is looking for a Country Representative for its office in Kathmandu, Nepal. Main tasks & responsibility The Project Coordinator has the overall responsibility of ensuring the proper management of the whole Project Cycle in accordance with CCS’ procedures, policies and guidelines, ensuring quality implementation within the specified time frames. An indicative list of responsibilities can be found below: Project Management • Monitor the optimal use & budget adherence of the financial resources in the project(s); • Ensure that administration and financial management are coherent with CCS’ procedures; • Provide regular project follow-ups in the field; • Supervise the correct implementation of the sponsorship program data gathering; • Present regular reports to CCS’ head-office and to the different donors and other specific reports whereas requested; Project Identification & Formulation and Organizational Development • Map the donors and the funding opportunities at local and national level and matching them with CCS’ strategy in the country; • Identify project opportunities; • Identify potential donors to co-design new actions with; • Formulate new proposals in coordination with the Project Unit in the head-office to be submitted timely. Local Office Coordination • Coordinate local staff, defining a result oriented human resources management and a periodic evaluation of their performance; CCS Italia centro cooperazione sviluppo onlus organismo non lucrativo di utilità sociale legge 460/97 Via Di Scurreria, 5/1 - 16123 Genova • telefono 010 5704843 • fax 010 5702277 • e-mail: [email protected] • web: www.ccsitalia.org codice fiscale 95017350109 • conto corrente postale 10349165 • Ensure access to all needed services (logistics, communication, transport, legal etc.) for the local office; • Supervise policies and procedures implementation at country level; • Ensure the due respect of Nepali laws and national policies regarding cooperation for development, obtaining the necessary permissions and certifications and produce the required reports; • Ensure a continuous internal communication both inside the local office and between it and the head-office, responding to the requests of the different departments; • Manage the relations with other organizations and stakeholders in the Country; • Represent CCS both at official and operational level, and in any other case , as per request of the Foreign Activities Coordinator ; • Identify advocacy issues and managing possible advocacy activities; • Offer logistic support to missions, events and/or initiatives related to the project(s) and to CCS in general. Reference person: Foreign Activities Coordinator in the Headquarter Requested qualifications: • Relevant university degree or higher education, preferably in management, political science/international development or pedagogics/ education • Three years experience in international cooperation, preferably in the education sector • Project Cycle Management and Administrative Management experience of at least 2 years in Cooperation for Development Projects • Proven experience in working with Europaid and proven knowledge of its policies and procedures. • Experience of complex working contexts • Knowledge of the social situation in Southern Asia region Requested skills: • Proven communication, interpersonal, representation, negotiation, promotion and leadership skills • Proven capacity of project proposals designing and report writing • Fluency in English language, both written and oral • Above average computer literacy Assets: • Political and cultural awareness • Proficiency in Nepali • Holder of a valid international driver's license • Experience in Child Rights Based Approach, and/or Gender Equity • Experience in working with institutional donors other than EU (USAID, UN, bilateral and multilateral cooperation agencies, Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs…) and knowledge of their policies and procedures.
