Research Area:
Mechatronic System Design and Metrology for Precision Engineering:
All research projects are related to static and dynamic precision positioning systems (up to 6 degrees
off freedom) for applications in the High Tech Industry. We try to solve High Tech challenges with
“out off the box” design solutions and always build demonstrators for validation of our concepts.
- Mechatronic System Design topics: sub-nanometer positioning; magnetic bearing, levitation and
propulsion; air-positioning; thermal positioning and systems using ferro fluids.
- Metrology topics: Sensor System Design; interferometry and capacitive sensors.
Distinctions and awards:
80% of my PhD students and postdoc’s are financed with national grants from IOP (Inovatieve
Onderzoek Projecten) and STW (Stichting Technische Wetenschappen).
Winner Mc Kinsey&Company National New-Venture-2000 with my company Delpa B.V. (Dfl 50.000,-)
