DIRECTIONS:
101 Freeway to Rose Ave. – North 2 miles to Central Ave. Left to school.
FACILITY:
9 lane all-weather track and field event areas. 5mm (3/16”) spikes are required. No spikes over
3/16” will be allowed on the track. Limited spikes on sale at the meet.
ENTRY FEE:
$15.00 per relay / $5.00 per individual Maximum entry fee per division (boys’ or girls’) is $190.
Maximum entry fee for a school entering both boys’ and girls’ divisions is $350. Minimum entry fee
per division is $60. Make checks payable to: Rio Mesa Track & Field.

The deadline for entry is Tuesday APRIL 1 at 5:00PM.
You will not have to enter individual names for your relays. Give an accurate mark for the running
events. In the seldom run relays, you should give added times. Marks are not required for the field
events relays. An athlete may compete in a maximum of 4 events. Entrants in the Thrower’s
4x100 must also compete in the Discus or Shot Put in this meet. “B” teams may be added on
the day of the meet, in the running events only, if space is available and new heats do not have
to be created.
4 x 1600:
The 4x1600 will run with a Cross-Country style finish—no batons and all runners competing
simultaneously. You must have 4 runners in the race to score. Time your own runners!
FIELD
EVENTS:
All field events will be contested as relays. A team will consist of and be limited to 3 athletes per
school. The top mark of each team member will be added to those of his/her teammates to
determine overall place. Individuals may be entered in field events, but only a full team of 3 will
considered for scoring purposes. There will be no F/S competition in the Thrower’s 4x100, but
F/S athletes may move up for competition in this event only. There will be no “B” teams in
the field events.
SCORING:
All events will be scored 10 – 8 – 6 – 4 – 2 – 1.
AWARDS:
Team Medals to 5 place in all relay events.
Team Awards – plaques to Team champ & Runner-up in all divisions.
SNACK BAR:
We will offer a complete Snack Bar, featuring breakfast items, fresh strawberries, home-made
burritos, pizzas, hot dogs, French fries, nachos, as well as Powerade, soft drinks, coffee and candy.
T-SHIRTS:
Spartan Relays T-shirts will be on sale for $15.00. Sweatshirts for $25.00.
