Press Release During Africa Works 2014, PPPLab will present the first two publications in the PPPlab Insight Series. They will be officially handed over to Mr. Christiaan Rebergen, deputy director general of DGIS, (Dutch Ministry of Trade and International Cooperation). It's the kick-off a new action research program to research and enhance the effectiveness and quality of Dutch-supported public-private partnerships. PPPlabs mission is to co- create knowledge and experience that can be used to improve both the implementation of and the policy on PPPs. Over the next four years PPPLaB will produce a series of publications, studies and on- and offline events centred around these themes: theories of change, business models, scaling, partnership processes, the Dutch PPP approach, and specific topics like PM&E (smart monitoring &evaluation) and Service delivery models. During Africa Works, PPPLab will moderate a workshop in which PPPLab invites participants to bring forward ideas on three central topics; how we can stimulate innovation within PPPs, how can we bring together commercial and impact/public finance objectives in sustainable business models and how can we sustain the achievements of PPP contracts after date of expiry. Under the challenging title: ever worked in a PPPLab? PPPLab is funded by the DGIS and will closely work together with RVO, thus focusing on partnerships funded in the first rounds of the Sustainable Water Fund (FDW) and Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Food Security Fund (FDOV). PPPLab is implemented by a consortium of The Partnerships Resource Centre (PrC), Aqua for All (A4A), Centre for Development Innovation of Wageningen UR (CDI) and SNV Netherlands Development Organisation (SNV). Sjef Ernes PPPLab Persbericht Tijdens Africa Works 2014 zal het PPPLab haar eerste twee publicaties in de PPPLab “insight” serie officieel overhandigen aan dhr. Christiaan Rebergen, plv DG bij DGIS, het Directoraat Internationale Samenwerking van het ministerie voor Handel & OS. De overhandiging is de kick off van een nieuw “action research” programma gericht op onderzoek en versterking van de effectiviteit en kwaliteit van door Nederland gefinancierde Publiek-Private Partnerschappen (PPP’s). De missie van het PPPLab is het co-creëren van kennis en ervaring om zowel implementatie van als beleid met het PPP instrumentarium te verbeteren. De komende 4 jaar zal het PPPLab de resultaten vastleggen in publicaties, studies en evenementen, zowel off-als on-line rond een aantal thema velden: Theory of Change, business models & finance, opschaling, partnerschap processen, de “PPP-Dutch approach” en enkele specifieke onderwerpen zoals Smart PME (slimme benutting van Monitoring&evaluatie verplichtingen) en service-dienstverlening modellering. Tijdens Africa Works verzorgt het PPPLab een workshop waarin zij de participanten uitnodigt om ideeën in te brengen op drie vraagstukken: hoe stimuleren we innovatie binnen PPP’s, hoe brengen we commercieel geld en publiek of ontwikkelingsgeld bij elkaar in duurzame business concepten en hoe verduurzamen we de resultaten uit de PPP’s na afloop van de gefinancierde contractperiode. De titel van de workshop is: ooit gewerkt in een PPPLab? Het PPPLab is gefinancierd door DGIS en werkt nauw samen met RVO (Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland) met de focus op de PPP’s zoals die zijn/worden gefinancierd onder het Fonds Duurzaam Water FDW en de Faciliteit Duurzaam Ondernemen en Voedselzekerheid FDOV.
