MIRENAT®- NSM
FOOD PRESERVATIVE
COMPOSITION
MIRENAT®-NSM is a new food preservative based on LAE®, ETHYL LAUROYL ARGINATE (E-243), in
maltodextrine and vegetable fiber. LAE® is a molecule developed and synthesized by Lamirsa
Group. The company is the owner of the patents of synthesis and the patent of use in food
products.
Lamirsa has achieved the authorization of the LAE® molecule in the European Union for its use
in meat products submitted to heat treatment (Regulation 506/2014). Furthermore, it obtained
the authorization in 2005 of its use in meat products and other sectors in USA, and later in
Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Australia, New Zealand and in countries governed by CODEX (INS 243).
The main feature of MIRENAT®-NSM is its wide antimicrobial activity against all kind of gram
positive bacteria such as Listeria monocytogenes, Leuconostoc mesenteroides, Staphylococus
aureus, etc., gram negative bacteria like Salmonella spp, Escherichia coli, Campylobacter
jejuni,... that causes food spoilage and food borne diseases. It is also active against moulds and
yeasts.
MIRENAT®-NSM is an innocuous product that is rapidly metabolized in the digestive tract
hydrolysing into natural compounds found in the human diet.

APPLICATIONS
MIRENAT®-NSM is used in meat products treated by heat such as: cooked ham, cooked turkey,
bacon, mortadella, roast beef, precooked meat and other meat products. Apply the product by
injection or tumbling, up to a dose of 1,3 g/kg of meat product in EU.

Low dosage of use.

It does not modify the organoleptic properties of the meat products.
Increases shelf life of the meat product and inhibits the growth of pathogens (Listeria
monocytogenes, Salmonella sp, Escherichia coli,...).
Good efficacy against all kind of microorganisms (Gram negative bacteria, gram positive
bacteria, moulds and yeasts).f
Resistant to any heat process.
It hydrolises into natural endogenous compounds such as arginine, lauric acid and
ornithine.
PACKAGING
MIRENAT®-NSM is available in 15 and 1000 kg totes.
STORAGE AND SHELF LIFE
Keep the containers tightly closed when not in use. Protect from exposure to heat and light.
We recommend avoiding temperatures above 30ºC or 86ºF and below 4ºC or 39ºF). Under such
conditions, the shelf life of the product is 18 months.
