hen reading this I will be
enjoying the warm sun
of the sea and will I have forgotten the toil of head office for a
while.
I
do believe that leave is one
of the best things that is
given to any employee and
would again want to urge you
to take leave to refresh your
mind and body for another
year’s work. Use this privilege
to the best of your own health.
F
rom time to time it seems
that a concerted onslaught
is made to destabilise the employees of the company and to
take their peace of mind away
I
t is currently again the case
and it saddens me that this is
happening to you.
T
he work security is not of
the best in our line of
inspection services and I do
hope that this will be addressed
by the Government in the near
future.
T
he rumours that IMQAS is
sold and contracts are to
be terminated are again in the
air.
A
GAIN, we do have a letter
from RMAA that they
intend to get rid of their shares
in IMQAS to ensure the company’s independence. Therefore it
is only natural that we will have
from time to time experience
companies showing interest in
buying these shares.
N
ow would any such a
company want to buy
IMQAS shares only to proceed
to terminate the contracts and
in so doing killing the company
they are buying? Anybody in
their right mind will see the
folly of such an action. I would
like to therefore want to set
your mind at rest. If a company
should buy the IMQAS shares, it
will only be by a company that
would want to strengthen the
company and better the conditions of its employees. Therefore no sudden mass contract
cancellations will happen and if
the abattoirs do not terminate
the contract your jobs are safe
and you will be informed immediately if such a buy should happen.
I
n my opinion such a buy
could only benefit IMQAS
and its personnel and it should
therefore rather be something
to look forward to than with
trepidation
A
s a general manager I
would also welcome it and
I would like you to be at peace
and enjoy the daily life as was
intended by God.
W
e are currently busy
with a process of internal auditing of our personnel to
evaluate possible refresher
courses and you can enquire
about this with your regional
manager.
S
afe meat regards,
Dr. Tertius Bergh
General Manager
IMQAS PAY DATE
Employees get paid on the 25th of each month from the first day to the last day of the month
(+-5 days in advance). Due to undue losses and absconding of personnel after receiving their
salaries on the 25th, it was decided to change the pay date to the last working day of the
month.
The first payment on the last working day of the month will be Monday, 30 June 2014, this
will give everyone enough time to make the necessary arrangements with your bank.

QUESTION
ANSWER
What happens when an
IMQAS employee worked
overtime and have not received overtime payment in
the very next month??
If an employee have worked overtime
during the month, he/she will only
receive it in the next month end.
ASK DR. BERGH!
Should the Abattoir have outstanding
money with IMQAS, the Abattoir will
first have to be invoiced the overtime
and when the payment have been received, only then the employee will
receive the overtime payment

Supervisory Officials
at Abattoirs
IMQAS currently has 303 permanent

over the country.
We would like to ask all the supervisory
officials to send all documentations
(attendance register, overtime, leave and

Is for payroll to process the documentation
in time for month payments.
We would like to request to ALL
employees that if your address details

TRAINING, AS A VIGOROUS TOOL
IN THE HAND OF IMQAS
Since IMQAS accepted the responsibility and the challenge of training meat examiners, meat inspectors and also veterinary
students the company underwent an number of up’s and down’s. At this point in time however, the hick-up’s are, gratefully
something of the past and the training department as a unit, is geared to present and offer the best possible quality of training.
To a large extent the aim, in the past, was to get students through the training schedule whatever the cost, thereby jeopardizing
quality of training.. Dedication and a high level of enthusiasm is currently being experience to meet the needs of the students
as a unit but not forgetting the needs of the individual. The fruit of this new mindset is already being experienced.
A special word of appreciation to the IMQAS personnel, who support the training staff with the development of the skills,
applicable to primary meat inspection. We realize that it is not an easy task when you are still compelled to perform
your own duties at the same time.
Thank you, furthermore for dedicated inspection staff that tirelessly assist with the collection of pathology samples even
when this is required at short notice. You are the backbone of all our efforts in the training department and your contributions
have not passed unnoticed.
To all the training Officials and inspection staff, countrywide, we appreciate your efforts.
