Stations of the Cross will be held every Friday
evening during Lent at 7.30 p.m.
Next Sunday, March 29, Palm Sunday - Procession at
10.00 a.m. Mass will start outside the Church, weather
permitting (please do not park in front of the Church).
This is the time of when we ask our wonderful
volunteers to donate their time to help to decorate the
Church for Easter. Please join us on Saturday, April 4,
at 9.00 am. The more hands, the merrier!
We are also asking you to come and join in preparing and
cleaning the church for Easter, on Saturday, April 4,
9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Cleaning supplies and equipment
will be provided. Great service opportunity for families

SOCIAL CONCERNS
The Poor Box for the month of March is for Shepherd’‛s Table,
a nonprofit organization in downtown Silver Spring, which is
supported by volunteers, religious organizations, government,
businesses, foundations and individual donors. Their mission is
to provide help to people who are homeless or in need by
providing basic services, including meals, social services,
medical support, clothing and other assistance in an effective
and compassionate manner.
Thank you to all who so kindly gave to last
week’‛s Share in Hope Food Drive. We collected
over 1,600 pounds of food items, which all went
to the Capital Area Food Bank.

St. Bartholomew CYO
We are once again combining forces with Little Flower to form
teams for softball. Girls in grades 3-8 are eligible to
participate. Games begin in early April and end in early June.

Volunteer Opportunity - be a personal shopper! The Father
McKenna Center, a day shelter for homeless men needs
volunteers to help with our clothing closet. Commitment: 2
hours once per month (Tuesday mornings 9-11 am). Task: assist
the homeless “shop” for much needed clothing. To volunteer,

St. Elizabeth Bereavement Ministry will offer an eight
week bereavement support group series for adults who have
experienced the death of a parent, spouse or significant other.
The Spring evening series will meet at St. Elizabeth Catholic
Church, 917 Montrose Road in Rockville on Wednesday
evenings, 7-8:30pm, from April 8 – May 27, 2015. There is no

Jerusalén en tiempo de Pascua congregaba a gente de
todo el mundo conocido. Los griegos no eran la
excepción, y cuando expresan su deseo de ver a Jesús,
este responde: “Ha llegado la hora de que el hijo del
hombre sea glorificado”. Ser glorificado significa para
alguien ser reconocido y aclamado por las autoridades
constituidas, por las conquistas o acciones heroicas
benéficas para su pueblo. Así es como el héroe gana
autoridad
y
mando.
Estamos
asistiendo
al
reconocimiento público del Mesías. Jesús al hablar del
trigo que no muere y queda infecundo, y del que
muere y produce mucho fruto, esta figurando el
misterio pascual. La muerte de Jesús solo tiene sentido
si es fecunda, es decir si es benéfica y productiva. Jesús
no solo ha muerto solo para resucitar.

ESTACIONES DE LA CRUZ
El rezo de las Estaciones de la Cruz es una de las
devociones más hermosas del tiempo de Cuaresma que
podemos realizar en familia. En San Bartolomé las
tenemos cada viernes de Cuaresma a las 7:30 p.m.
Rezadas en inglés hasta el El Viernes Santo en que habrá
las Estaciones para niños a las 12 del mediodía, para
adultos a las 3 p.m., y en español a las 5 p.m.
NOVENA A LA VIRGEN DE LA MEDALLA MILAGROSA
En preparación para la Semana Santa, son nueve Martes
consecutivos a las 7:30 PM – en la Iglesia de San
Bartolomé. Los días 24 y 31 de Marzo. Rezada en español,

MISA ANUAL DE AGASAJO 2015
El Cardenal Donald Wuerl celebrará este año la Misa anual
de agasajo para honrar a todas las parejas que cumplan
los 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50 o más años de casadas. Esta Misa
será el día Domingo 21 de Junio a las 2:00 p.m. en la
Basílica del Santuario Nacional de la Inmaculada
