Salve Regina was the first hymn to have been sung in
the New World by the sailors accompanying Christopher Columbus in 1492. Just as sailors in the Middle
Ages sang the Salve at the end of the day, so too did
the laity join monks and friars in an evening Salve.
This hymn to Our Lady has been greatly loved since
the middle Ages. In it, Mary is praised as the Mother
of Mercy, an advocate who will help the faithful
through the exile of earthly life. The cost is $2,849.00

The Vatican World Meeting of Families (WMOF)
will take place for the first time in the United
States from September 22-27, 2015, hosted by the
Archdiocese of Philadelphia. With anticipated papal
events occurring Saturday and Sunday. This event
will provide an excellent opportunity to celebrate families. You will not only learn more about the issues concerning worldwide Catholics, but also be able to join in
the dialogue which will help inform the next Ordinary
Synod in Rome during October 2015. Cost for the
total conference, including the weekend events will be
$350 per person or $199 for children, 6-17. There are
early registration discounts, modified packages and on
site packages available. A youth track for children 617 years old is being developed and professional child
care will be available (for a fee). Hotel rooms and other accommodations have been blocked by the WMOF
committee. Once you register for the conference, you
will be directed to a page that has a listing of all available places to stay, including private homes and group

Pastoral Congress will be held on September 19,
2015 at the Skaggs Catholic Center. The theme is:

Saint Francis Xavier Church 2nd Annual Walk-a-thon
& Festival -August 29th & 30th, 2015. Commencing; Father Yarce will have a prayer service to initiate the Festivities. The two mile walk-a-thon will meet at 9 am in the
church parking lot. The Festival will be from 10 am—8pm
with a Silent Auction from 10am-5:30pm. Sunday, the
outdoor food sale will commence from 8am-3pm. All proceeds will go to the church for the building fund!

Registrations for Baptisms or preparation classes
are done in the church office. You must register no later
than Monday before the class and baptism. The preparation
class and baptism are on the same day. The preparation class
starts at 9:00 a.m. in the church followed by the baptisms. If you
are only attending the class, there is a donation of $25.00. After
the class you will receive a letter of completion. If you are
attending the class and baptizing your child, there is a donation
of $50.00 for each child. When registering in the church office,
you will need to pay the donation and bring a copy of the child’s
birth certificate. The next class and baptism is September
26th. The class starts at 9:00am, followed by the baptisms. We
do recommend to register at least one month before the date.
The deadline to register is Friday, September 18th.
Please be prepared to pay the exact amount; we do not have
change in the Church office.

CHURCH PARKING LOT
We have placed two (2) barrels by the front entrance to
the church. Lately, our parking lot is being used to discard
all types of litter and debris. Please help us to keep our
church/school parking lot clean. Your help is greatly
appreciated. Let's all make a sincere effort as a parish
community, to help in keeping our parking lot, playground
and landscaping grounds free of all litter/debris.
