京都大学白眉センター 2014年度年次報告会研究者の社会貢献とは何か Serving People Through Research 2015年4月16日（木）14：00～芝蘭会館山内ホール 14：00～14：30 14：30～15：00 15：00～15：30 15：30～16：00 16：00～17：30 17：30～18：00 年次活動報告坂本龍太「ブータン市民社会に見る高齢者医療」時長宏樹「気候変動の診断と予測」クロイドン・シルビア「学界に於ける人権の議論」白眉研究者全員によるポスターセッション大野照文「間違いが教える生きる智恵」 Serving People Through Research 研究者の社会貢献とは何か世界の発展、グローバルゼーションおよび技術進歩が加速するにつれ、人類は、社会の秩序、健康、安全、さらには自らの生命までをも脅かす大規模な問題に、ますます多く直面するようになってきている。これらの問題には、人口過剰問題、不平等、国際安全保障への脅威、資源不足、病気の蔓延、環境汚染、気候変動や高齢化社会などが含まれる。これらの問題は、数多くの原因により、ますます複雑な状況を呈している。こうした問題の複雑性により、解決策を提示すべく研究者は、特に学際的な研究に取り組むことが重要になってきている。そこで、本報告会で講演を行う三人の白眉研究者は、現在我々が面している今日のもっとも緊要な問題に関する最先端の研究を通じ、社会および人類にどのように貢献するのかということについて議論する。 As worldwide development, globalization and technological advancement accelerate, humankind faces an increasing number of large-scale challenges that threaten order within societies as well as health, security, and even its own survival. These challenges include increasing overpopulation, inequality, threats to international security, scarcity of resources, the spreading of diseases, pollution, climate change, and aging societies. These challenges have become increasingly complex as they are fuelled by numerous causes. Due to the complexity of such phenomena, the role of researchers in finding solutions, particularly through interdisciplinary work, has become increasingly important.
