Tel: 03-3470-3212 E-mail: [email protected] Fri 10/11　IHJ コンサート予告　昨年の公開講演の様子（2012.11.3 舩橋晴雄氏） A lecture from the previous year (2012.11.3 Funabashi Haruo) 瀬谷ルミ子：国連 PKO、外務省、NGO などの職員としてルワンダ、アフガニスタン、コートジボワールなどで勤務。紛争後の復興、平和構築、治安改善、兵士の武装解除・社会再統合など、現場での平和構築事業を統括している。アフリカにおける PKO の軍人、警察、文民の訓練カリキュラム立案や講師も務める。2011 年ニューズウィーク日本版「世界が尊敬する日本人 25 人」の一人に選出されるほか受賞歴も多数。 “What is the Meaning of Work?” Saturday, August 10, 1:30 – 3:00 pm 鼓童コンサート Kondo Masaakira James (Head of Twitter Japan/ Managing Director, East Asia at Twitter) 10 月 11 日（金）7：00 pm　岩崎小彌太記念ホール Mr. Kondo has been recognized not only in business but also in the academic and social sectors and was selected as a Young Global Leader at the World Economic Forum (Davos) in 2005. He will share his views on the meaning and methodology of work based on his abundant experience in various fields. Kondo Masaakira James was a core member of the global strategy group and its economic think tank at McKinsey Global Institute and a special advisor to the head of the National Policy Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister of Japan. He also has co-founded NPOs such as TABLE FOR TWO. He has been also recognized as an Asia 21 Fellow and Associate Fellow at the Asia Society. “How to Make Peace” Saturday, October 5, 1:30 – 3:00 pm Seya Rumiko (Board of Directors/Secretary-General, Japan Center for Conflict Prevention) As an expert on disarmament, Ms. Seya has disarmed soldiers or guerrillas after the conflicts in Somalia, South Sudan and Afghanistan so they can be reintegrated into the society. She will speak on how she uncovered the roots of the problems and their solutions. Seya Rumiko is a specialist in post-conflict peace-building and reintegration of ex-combatants into society and has held various positions in conflict areas, such as Rwanda, Afghanistan and the Ivory Coast. Seating Capacity: 150 Language: Japanese & English (with consecutive interpretation) JULY-SEPTEMBER In order to introduce and share Japanese traditional culture with nonJapanese residents in Japan, the I-House will present a concert by the world famous taiko ( Japanese drum) performing arts ensemble, “Kodo.” Kodo, based on Sado Island, travels the world performing taiko, folk dance, song and music. The IHJ performance will feature a core group of Kodo’s senior members performing a selection of their most representative works. Ryukyu (Okinawan) dancer Kinjō Mitsue will make a special appearance for this concert. *We will begin accepting reservations in early August.
