We had the wonderful opportunity to have Anna Zirk
coach a gymnastics session after school on
December 4th. We want to wish Anna all the best in
her upcoming trip to the World Gymnaestrada in
Finland in 2015. Good luck, Anna!
Thank you to the SNSCC for the special
lunch day!
Thank you for all the support during our Book Fair! Sales totaled $1830.05,
resulting in $860 worth of books and resources back into our Resource Centre.
Thank you, thank you!!
Thank you to Mrs. Bohay and Mrs. Curtis for organizing and working the
book fair. Ellia won the draw prize of $25 of books for her and her classroom.
Congratulations!
SNS travelled to Pense Elementary School on November
27th to attend a concert by Bob King. Several students
were called up on stage to help sing some of our
favourites, such as Sandwiches, Popcorn, Two Wrongs
Don’t Make a Right and The Rhyming Dictionary.
We enjoyed the Mackenzie Art Gallery exhibit 60 Years: How We
Filled the Vault. The students had a wonderful time during the
Mackenzie Art Gallery workshops. On the first day, he explained how
different people see different things in art. On the second day, the
students had the opportunity to make a collage and recreate art
using props and a painting as a backdrop. Thank you to those that
came out in the evening to see the exhibition.
Our Christmas concert production
was a great success!
Special
thanks to Mrs. Hill, Mrs. Love,
Miss Stephenson, our cast, Mr.
Jacklin
and
our
band,
Mrs. Faucher , Mr. Koskie and the
TECH team, classroom teachers
and all the students. Also, special
thanks to everyone who came to
be part of our audience.

kicked off with a Practical
and Applied Arts day for
Grades 7 and 8
students. Students sewed a
Christmas tree ornament and
prepared strawberry muffins.
On December 3rd Prairie
Valley School Division hosted
a Student Leadership
Conference at Indian Head
High School. Six students
from grades 6 to 8 were
selected to attend this special
event.
The grades 7 and 8 class sold
holiday rafiki chains to support
Free the Children. Half of the
money from the sale of
each rafiki went to the mama in
Kenya in that made the chain
and half of the money went to
Free the Children activities in
communities around the
world.
The Mackenzie Art Gallery
brought an exhibit called
60 Years: How We Filled
the Vault to Stewart Nicks
School. Grades 7 and 8
students created collages
from magazines
and designed landscapes
The Grades 7 and 8 class took
Emergency First Aid training
on December 15 and
16. Students practiced

Facility Use
As you may be aware, our new caretaker, Mrs. Kezama works part-time (5:30 AM to 9:30 AM). As she does not
reside in the community and is unavailable in the evenings to open and close the school for special events, accessing
the facility outside of instructional hours will not always be possible. However, community groups with appropriate
and adequate insurance in place may apply to use Stewart Nicks School for various functions, providing all criteria
are met. Please contact the school at least 2 weeks prior to your event. All requests must be approved by Prairie
Valley School Division #208 in advance. Appropriate and adequate insurance MUST be in place.
