SCHOOL FEES FOR 2015 PAYMENT OF SCHOOL FEES: According to Article 39 and 40 of the South African School’s Act both parents are liable for the payment of School fees and the payment of school fees can be enforced by process of law. School fees are according to law classified as statutory debt as published in the government Gazette number 28864, Part D, 24(v) ‘Living expenses, inclusive of but not limited to (cc) School fees.’ METHOD OF PAYING SCHOOL FEES: The School fees will be R9350.00 (Gr 1 – Gr 7) per learner for the year 2015. Paid upfront before the 7th of each month – from January to October. (10 months) The School fees for Koedoe-spoortjies will be R11 495.00 (Gr R) per learner for the year 2015. Paid upfront before the 7th of each month – from January to November. (11 months) 1. Once off payment: Payment before or on 31 January 2015. (Electronic banking must show in the school’s bank account on the 31st January 2015) Then a 5% discount will be applicable. 2. Monthly payments: Payment of ten(10) settlements of R935.00 (Gr 1 – Gr 7), and eleven(11) settlements of R1045.00 (Gr R), per learner, every month, the first payment before or on the 7th of January 2015 and the last payment before or on the 7th of October/November 2015. Cash, cheque or electronic payments can be made – there is a card facility at the front office available. Monthly payments by Debit order: Payment of 10 settlements of R935.00 (Gr 1 – Gr 7) per learner, and R1045.00 (Gr R) per learner, with the first deduction in January 2015 and the final payment in October/November 2015. Parents that want to use the Debit order system can get the applicable forms at the school at Mrs L de Lange. Current Debit order arrangements will go on automatically. If you have changed banking details or want to stop the current Debit order you must let Mrs L de Lange know. Should any payment by means of a debit order, not be honoured for one month, the amount will be doubled in the following month. OUTSTANING SCHOOL FEES ACCOUNTS: th The full outstanding amount will be payable if one payment is not paid on the specific date (7 of each month) If the account is not paid during the month, you will receive a telephone call, text message or a reminder letter from the school. If there is no reaction on the action from you as parent the school’s financial committee will send the outstanding account to the school’s attorney for collection. The full outstanding account, including all costs, fees and interest has to be paid by the parent. APPLICATION FOR EXEMPTION OF SCHOOL FEES: Regulations make it possible for parents/guardians to apply for exemption or part exemption of the school fees on ground of their actual needs. The applicable forms are available at the office at Mrs L de Lange from January 2015. PARENTS MUST APPLY EVERY YEAR FOR EXEMPTION. Completed application forms must come back to Mrs L de Lange before 28 February 2015. The onus is on the parents to collect the application form in person at the office. Qualifying (or not) for exemption is not set by itself or by criteria from the Governing body and financial committee of the school but is subjected to meet the strict criteria as prescribed by law. PAYMENT OF AFTERCARE FEES: The aftercare will be R7700.00 (Gr 1 – Gr 7) per learner for the year 2015. This is an amount of R700.00 per learner per month.
